It's Hot out today...
It is "HOT" outside today... especially right here at "high noon"...Been out rearranging my garden, moving the containers around to different positions. Now you understand why I choose to use containers/pots VS planting in the ground. It would be a lot more work to rearrange them if in the ground. (DUH)!
Anyway, decided to line my roses along each side of the area 24ft X 24ft (a row of them,10 on each side). There is a reason for that!
And you say: "What, pray tell would persuade you cuz, ever to do such a thang, if'n they were ok where they were at?"
I say: "Cause my cuz, with tha sprinkler I have, I can now better control the spray pattern of the watering mechanism. Known to us Southerners as "ad-just-ments"....
And you say: "Humm... [well, hug my momma, and make me a mater sammich] what is so important in controlling the pattern?"
And I say: "Well cuz..., it's like this here, i've learned that watering the foliage/leaves of the rose, enables the risk of fungus, dark/black spots, yellowing of leaves and parasites that damage the plant over time. The watering process should be localized, by watering only at the base of the plant. Hence, I rearranged them outside the watering pattern of the sprinkler, so the leaves don't get wet, and the rest of the community of plants/flowers, within the center of the area, can now receive their water with no risk to the roses."
OK, class is over for now... haha!! Everyone have a great Mother's Day! ~JOHN~

Now about that HOT weather.. maybe you could send some over to good ol England as it has been somewhat cool and cloudy here.
Still, enjoying a wonderful day.
Enjoy your beautiful garden.

Well, thanks for the comments... but the flower issue is at the moment... an occasional bloom or a small bunch... and take a picture of them as they progress...
Have 20+ rose plants (variety of names)... plus several others that I forgot what they are. Good that I thought to label them. Some I can't even spell or pronounce, without looking them up...
And as far as the heat goes... I would send some your way, but don't know how.. haha
OK... you have a good week.... and Happy Mother's Day to you...

Much as I love to see a gorgeous rose plant, seems like they are prone to pulling the "pretty as a picture today, let's see how sick I can look in a week" thing! But along has come the "KnockOut" roses and with them, hope for all of us who don't want to give up on growing some beautiful rose plants! From what I see, "KnockOuts" are a sure thing for blooming, resistance to disease and almost all the problems that accompany roses. Only downside to them....they don't seem to have that wonderful rose fragrance...well, guess we don't get the whole package, just enough to keep them easy growers! I have only one rose plant in my yard but if I do add more, it will probably be a yellow "KnockOut"...love yellow roses!
Have fun arranging that rose garden and good luck with result!
Good morning to ya....
Yea, there seems to be extra efforts to keep and grow roses that are "picture perfect". This is my 2nd year at flower gardening... I did add 4 knock-out roses this time (2 red & 2 pink) and I think I got some mixed colored ones... (example Dragon Rose red/white).
I did try tomatoes last year, but the squirrels changed my mind on doing that again this year. Love a good home grown tomato sandwich...
OK, have a great week, and a belated Happy Mother's Day to you.

Morning Avias...
I also have a lot of different plants that seem to be slow to bloom, or either I'm just a little anxious making it seem like a long time.
But got a few that has jumped out ahead of the pack.... Just give the time needed... and they will show.
Have a great day...
