Moving... for the 28th time....

So I'm packing... and thinking of all the places I've lived before.

So I counted them up and shock, horror, this is the 28th move in 26 years!

blues

When I think about it, there was always seemed to be a good reason for moving at the time... but now I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever stop. Although I am saying that YES this is definitely the LAST time!! grin

I have two sisters, both a lot older than me, who have only ever lived in two homes. Their childhood home and then the one they bought with their husbands. Do I envy them? NO! The thought of being in the same place for that long terrifies me....

Am I extreme in this? Is there anyone else out there that's done the same? Should I just buy a camper van and stop trying to settle? roll eyes I'd appreciate your thoughts.....

If being in the same place for too long terrifies you, a camper sounds like a pretty good idea. They say home is where your heart is. Listen to yours wave
I see from your profile you are still only a youngster and seem to have the means to support yourself. This being the case I would say "go for it".

I made my last move when I was 46, lost count how many times I moved before that, all were work related, however, when the choice was mine I choose to live in the sun, never regretted it.
Hiya Molly, wave do what suits you.

Sometimes moving can be part of going for a new job, so not being tied down to a location is a big advantage.

I was living in 7 different places in the last 10 years and all I wanted was a home. I have that now and I'm looking forward to it, but I do know that it can be a problem with jobs in the future.

If YOU don't want to settle down simply don't. Best of luck with your move. bouquet
I could not live in a camper its to cramped
and I hate moving, there advantages in staying in one place
but maybe I just to lazy to keep moving around
I used to move a lot and that gets old so I guess I just stay where I am and take vacations. LOL and good luck with your move
applause wow that is simple amazing and free spirited,I would give my bottom dollar to be able to do that. It makes life more interesting ,and if it floats your boat why not.Not many ladies can say that for surehug
Hi Redmolly wave

I've also lost count of how many times I've moved. Mostly when I was a child and we were regularly evicted but I'm sad to say that I now feel very restless staying in the same place.

I have a buyer for my house but this time I don't feel I can manage the move. It makes me feel very insecure.

I have a friend who moved 8 times after her divorce than fell in love with her present home.

I would say, move while you're fit enough to tackle it as your clearly not happy where you are because you may not have it in you later.

That's tough molly. hug

I hope you'll find a place your are happy in. Everyone has different preferences and hopefully you can find something that fulfills the need of your son and yourself. handshake

Come and live with me. I have a big house and I promise not to die on you.

The problem would be with our names being the same.

wink cheers peace
Hi RM, I was wondering, have you contacted him to see what he wishes to do with his half? He may want you to stay there and look at it as an investment that will appreciate in the years to come (then you can charge him management feeslaugh ) cheers
Hi Sands, yes we sat down and discussed it. I've known him for 20+ years and we're good friends thankfully (not like I'm dealing with an unknown quantity!). He would never ask me to sell, and pointed out that as far as he's concerned it's my home for as long as I want to stay. But I also know he lives in a crumbling Victorian pile of a house which desperately needs renovation. I'd have a major guilt trip sitting on his inheritance while his walls fall down around his ears! roll eyes
RM, invite him over for dinner and maybe the other house will be the one to selllaugh
laugh Sands maybe that would have worked if he wasn't already married!
I used to live out of a suitcase when younger too,,sigh
Hiya RM wave
