Fiji history to look back to....

wow its been ages since i posted something here :D
Hi everyone wave

I think it was the same time last year i joined CS. Im glad to have made new friends, lost them and found news ones again lol..

I came across something interesting. I dunno if anyone here would be interested in History but i am. I find the past a lot more fascinating than the future LOL...though of coz my own past is something i wouldnt delve into :D

i found an old song that describes the origins of Fijians. It was passed down from generation to generation. Fiji is in the South Pacific and this song (legend) tells that the first people to come to Fiji were from South Africa. Well a couple really with their kids, the guy was SA and the woman from Egypt.

Its really amazing how people from all over are related to each other. Probs nothing you'd wanna know but i found it something that i could share to Fijian friends who may come across this blog. Vinaka!!(thank you)

I had read something a long time ago that our origins were from Africa but i didnt know that Egypt was part of it....

And this song had been sung since the 1800s by the natives....i guess i should have paid lil more attention during history class in high school
laugh
Hawaiian natives they have beautiful songs also but the ukulele
was introduced in Hawaii by 2 brothers from Portugal and the natives made it their own this world is just one world
no doubt about it
True that. thumbs up
one Big Small world bouquet
This is far too simple...

Maybe ur ancestors will all be from India sooner or later, though the Fijians try to resist...

There r micronesians and polynesians. I doubt that their origin is in Africa.

The aborigines in Australia may be related to the Islanders or not.
It would be possible to find out by Anthropographs.
Have a look in the internet.

R u Indian, too?
I think Guadal might be on to something here,

Where did the Aborigines in Australia came from ?
And the black people in Fiji where did thay came from ?? and how had thay came to Fiji ?
It has already been looked into, sort of. The DNA/Eve mitochondria study which was world wide. Yes, some came from Africa, but others from other places. Eve was not the only mom.
FJ,

Thank you for sharing. Nice to see you posting again.
