Diabetes.....

It is a good idea to become familiar with the early warning signs of Diabetes. Here are some warning signs of Diabetes:

being very thirsty
urinating frequently
feeling very hungry or tired
losing feeling in your feet or having tingling in your feet
having blurry eyesight
bladder, kidney, skin, or other infections that are more frequent or heal more slowly
having dry, itchy skin
erectile disfunction.,....................... ,.......... ................... ... over a long period of time causes the following damage:

Eye Retina. Damage to the eye retina from diabetes is a leading cause of blindness.
Kidney Failure. Damage to the kidneys from diabetes is a leading cause of kidney failure. See also Kidney Health, Red Blood Cell Production and Peak Athlete Performance
Nerve Damage. Damage to the nerves from diabetes is a leading cause of foot wounds and ulcers, which frequently lead to foot and leg amputations
Damage to Autonomic Nervous System. Damage to the nerves in the autonomic nervous system can lead to paralysis of the stomach, chronic diarrhea, and an inability to control heart rate and blood pressure during postural changes.
s*xual Dysfunction. Diabetes causes significant loss of healthy erectile function.
Damage to Cardio Vascular System. Diabetes predisposes people to high blood pressure and poor circulation.
Impaired Immune System. Many infections are associated with diabetes, and infections are frequently more dangerous in someone with diabetes because the body's normal ability to fight infections is impaired
Diminished Mental Capacity. As glucose is the sole source of fuel for brain cells, there is growing and logical evidence that Dementia and Alzheimers may be cuased by Pre-Diabetes and Diabetes.
Skin Infections. People with Diabetes are more likely to get skin infections caused by fungus and bacteria. This is because some fungus and bacteria feed off glucose. Also, high blood glucose levels make the body's natural defenses less effective...... .... ... ...

-quite some change....confused- from "in LOVE" to Diabetes...dunno
things are changing fast and furious in the world of diabetes. Google has just spun off a company they now call Alphabet, this company has a division called Google Life Sciences. They are working with another company that created a contact lens that monitors your glucose levels. Now, to this it appears they are adding another new innovative product called Afrezza. Afrezza is an inhalable insulin prandial type; to be used at mealtimes. It's fast acting and leaves the body very quickly. It is the only product that almost exactly mimics the pancreas. Very easy to administer (just breath in), doesn't need to be refrigerated and no needle requirements. HbA 1c levels are being reported dropping dramatically, this can be a major cause of heart attacks. And then add to that it lowers the Glycemic events that can be harmful to the diabetic.

I'm looking for the EMA to approve Afrezza in the next few weeks in Europe...Google contact lens...not sure of delivery timeframe. But, Google is determined to make Diabetes a very easy and workable disease....
wave Sands Thanks for that info.My daughter is forty seven and has been a diabetic from the age of twenty. That is the reason she never got married and had kids because she saw the huge amount of family members pass away or lose limbs due to diabetes, and said she did not wish to have children with the thought of having them suffer the same disease. She has tried every new invention that has come onto the market without any success bouquet lips
Hi Ck, I'm really excited about the contact lens, not sure of the workings yet, but it could be an invaluable tool to keep a constant measurement of your glucose levels.....Tell your daughter to start looking for that man, her time is a come........laugh
Sands, the thing of it is (as the video explains) for most of us diabetes may be reversible. It just requires you to make the commitment for the change in lifestyle. I concur that a trauma damaged pancreas is a different animal, but at the clinic I have met others who have adopted heavy exercise and a hi protein diet with no carbs and in the process reduced their own insulin dependencies.
Absolutely Ken, the number of 'Pre' diabetics is staggering. Many people (type 2) can help themselves. Getting their weight down, exercising and eating properly (like you mentioned), but the real problem is many don't want to do what is required to get their HbA 1c levels down to the 5.5-6 level, they're completely content with levels of 8 or 9.....sometimes I wonder if people are a self destruct course, they just don't care. they want to eat what they want, when then want it without having concern....I just don't understand.........diabetes as CK mentioned is a horrible horrible disease.....as they start chopping off your limps so you can live to the next chop......confused

Extending life expectancies does have costs.

On a separate note, Monday the WHO is expected to anounce "beef, lamb and pork" are carcinogens.

The good news is, if you like your diet you can pick your study that supports it.
Yes water and oxygen are also known carcinogens. The WHO's point will be?
Ken, I guess we'll need to see the full report.
