What do you think about this van?

I just read an article about travelers and found this van.

It will be so much of fun to have it for travelling around, I guess.

I have slept in a similar van. They are good fun.

After a while though, they can feel a bit cramped, especially with 2 people in it.

But still fun!
The most recent caravan I spent a romantic weekend in was one similar to this.
It's a traditional Irish gypsy caravan.

No electricity, just candlelight. Very romanticsmitten

daydreamI lived in a similar van for awhile. As Molly says...great fun!

Some folks regard it as a form of low cost housing.
Others embrace it as a free-spirited lifestyle.
And still others regard it as a retirement option...
"Why live anywhere...if you can go everywhere?"
daydreamGotta admit, that retirement option does have a certain appeal...
whether your "home" has wheels, or a hull.

wow
Not exactly an understated color scheme there, Molly!
laugh
But it is a pretty cool variation on the movable abode concept!

All true Z...They have gained a certain "cult status".
and the engine location is...inconvenient. mumbling
For those who want to go really, REALLY minimalist...

Hi Mim Mollies blue one looks like the one my sons wanted for mehegrin they said all I needed was horse and the moving was done without much fuss. Move home with me and just find new spotrolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Red, it was very popular not too long ago, to see the horse drawn gypsy caravans on the roads in summertime,
They were a popular method of travelling around an area of Ireland for a holiday.
Alas, the roads are now too busy for such a slow moving vehicle.
You can still stay in a sited one though.
VW Micro bus, Camper version.thumbs up
For many years, I had an SUV + trailer...I camped every holiday....and clocked up 10000's of kilometers...around the entire SA coast line. Yes..if I had the money, I would buy the one in your pic and do it again...wine handshake
Bspoken If I had a horse I would have the blue one.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing and when itch came for moving well giddyup horseylaugh
Wow, blast from the past. Shades of the 1960s. The VW vans were for about a decade very common in the US. The variant shown however was notorious for leaking at the telescoping roof when it rained. As others say, since the engine was literally inside the van area, a big box on the floor ate a lot of the leg room. No movie about the 1960s or early 1970s and the US could be authentic without one of these in the footage somewhere.
That van reminds me of the hippie van I used to ride around in when in high school. Fun times, frantic moments when it stopped working, it would float in a sudden rainstorm if the water got too deep, not a place I would like to spend more then a few hours in because it did get cramped, but still, if it works for you... Go for it!

an X-hippy
They were a very good vehicle however they are far to old, getting spare parts to repair likely to be quite hard.

More modem Japanese van might be better option i think
thats what i want.
I will use Toyota Hi-Ace soon. I like the spacious van.

Its dream for me.wine
I also have a dream that one day I could have time to travel around iin this world using this funny van together with my love. Will put away all stress from works and life... Just enjoy discovering everything, every moment of the trip... daydream :)
