Intelligence is not enough

I've heard that love is not enough, not nearly enough. I haven't been in love long enough to know what that means. What I do know is that being intelligent is not enough to have the kind of life you may desire. Something else is required.

The secret to a long lasting relationship? Is that what you are asking? A singles website might not be the best place to give you the answers, you should ask couples who have been together for over 50 years. All I had in my first marriage was love, and that was not enough. Live and learn. Now that I am more mature I believe there needs to be a combination of love, compatibility, similar values and goals, similar interests, trust, honesty, good communication. Hopefully with the above combination the 2nd marriage will last "until death do us part."
