To all ye maidens of fair Cork CityI know full well that ye are pretty.
Such noble heads and delicate toes!
And to ye all I present a rose.
Truth to tell there is a lass in Bandon;
who I regret to say I did abandon.
So, to all the pretty girls of Erin,
my roses I’ll not be sparin’.
But if Ireland be so finely arrayed,
then why not the rest of the world?
So, let the banner of love be unfurled,
and to all the women roses be hurled.
