"RAMBLIN MAN"("RAMBLE ON")(66)

Maybe Some Want To Talk About Politics?....Naah...All That Does Is create Division And Animosity Towards One Another...Thats Why We Vote In Private... With The Curtain Drawn...And Thats Why Most Bars... Dont Allow The Subject Of Politics To Be Discussed...Especially With The Consuming Of Alcohol Going On

How About Talking About Religion?...The Same Rules Apply Here...Just Like The Subject Alcohol...Nope...That Wont Work Out Either...As Half The World Is Killing Each Other Over This Very Issue As I Write

And Theres No Need To Discuss Sex
You People Have Burnt That Subject Out A Long... Long Time Ago
(Those That Talk About?)...As Far As Im Concerned(I Could be Wrong)(But I Tend To Doubt It)
They Aint Gettin Any

So...The Best Thing That I... As The "Ramblin Man"...Can Do...Is To

Rolf?
Not A Problem Oney(We All Make Mistakes)

And Simmo Is Not Forgotten

Agree with you there Bud, Its those of us here keeping those memories, and spirits alive.
Over the last few years I ve lost enough family and friends, I know what keeping those memories alive is all about.
I Hear Ya Oney

Makes One Think Back Of The Last Time You Saw Them
And In Some Cases...Now Wished...You Would Have Said Something...Or been Different To Them...Instead(As In My Case With My Brother)We Were Fighting...And I Walked Away
And Weeks Later?
Yep...He Wasnt Here Anymore
And Im Left With That Last Memory Of It All

Unfortunately things like that happen, a person has to remember the good times.
My cousins kids never knew their Grandparents, I do my best to tell them stories of the Grandparents. Of what hard working people they were, and how they contributed to the community. The Grandparents were always there for others, and I don t want that forgotten.
Oney
Ill Always Remember My Grand Mother(On My Fathers Side)

She Was The Only One Who Would Defend Me
Ill Have To Admit...I Was Her Special Grandchild
And Ill Never Forget Her For Always Letting Me Sleep Over On The Weekends...And Letting Me Eat And Do Whatever I Wanted...(Things I Couldnt Do At Home With A Strict Mean Father

I didn't get to meet my grandparents on my dad's side but I did meet my grandparents on my mom's side.. My mom and dad got married in Boston and then moved to California and my dad didn't talk much about he's family so I don't know anything about them..
Miss Home
Ill Bet It Was In The Late 50s(Or Around That Time) When They Moved To California

The Was The Era Of

"Go West To California"

Went To School There In The Elementary Grades
Didnt Like Living There
New England Is My Home

.................................................detective
Nam,it was in 1952laugh,both my parents were born and raised back in New England. And I still have family there.I had an Aunt and Uncle that lived in Cape Cod.
Well Miss Home

I Wasnt Really That Far Off

First...My Grand Parents Moved To California In The Late 50s
Then My Uncle And His Family Followed
]Then My Aunt And her Family
Then My Family Moved There Being The Last

My Immediate Family Are The Only Ones Who Came "Back Home" To New England
Since That Time
We All Become Basically Strangers With Each Other
There Hasnt Been Contact In Twenty Years With Any Of Them
For All I Know
Some Of Them Could Be Dead

Its Funny How... Just One Part Of The Family(Moving To California)
Can End Up Destroying A Whole Entire Family

Both my Grandparents from my mother's and father's side had already passed on long before I was born. But I was able to trace my ancestry back in 1999 and found several pieces of vital records on them though.

But, I was given a picture or two of them from other family members.

I barely knew anything about my father cause I was a very young child cause he had died of a sudden death in our family car on the way home from work.

I did find out though from some of of my older siblings that he was responsible for helping in building the Mackinac Bridge causeways from both sides of the bridge and the Cut River Bridge in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

I was 24 when my mother passed away.

I cherish every moment remembering just how close her and I were and all the good times we had shared together.

I posted a music blog about that last night but I couldn't take looking at it any longer so I deleted it.

I'm the only one left of my older siblings.
Nam,that's not good... I have a sister in California and when I was young we moved to Az because my mom has a cousin that lives here so we ended up here in 1972...I moved back to California in 1988 and then moved back up here..I didn't want to raise my oldest son there..And then moved to Yuma Az for awhile and then moved back here..I have moved off this mountain 6 or 7 times..laugh

Nam, we were talking about Grandmothers earlier, I know my Grandmother had a Sweet side to her, She also had a tough side to her ,being a farmer. I knew never to argue with her.
You mentioned truckers swearing, doh , when I was a scaleman at times, I was called some names I never heard of before, rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
All kidding aside, I was also there to work with them and to see they got paid properly.
Nam I've been across that particular bridge a couple times myself and whenever I have I think of my father. What amazed me though was that there wasn't any water under it cause one time on the way back to St. Ignace so I stopped and took a walk down the stairway to the bottom.

But I haven't been back there since 09.Too many memories up there.

MYHome Back in 2002-2003 my late husband,my son and I moved from Michigan all way down to Southern Ca to place called Idyllwild Ca and later moved down to Val Vista which was about 4 miles east of Hemet. The San Bernadino Mts were pretty but very widing though.

After my late husband passed on in 2007 I moved here to Ohio.I'd love to move back to my home state of Michigan but don't have the funds to move.
Nam,that's right..My dad was amazing and I am very proud of him and how he raised me...My dad was one hell of a trucker...And when I needed him for whatever I get on the CB talk with him and if I couldn't get a hold of him I would talk with another trucker who knew my daddy...I had so much fun on the CB...laugh My dad would give me a list of trucker names to get a hold of if I couldn't talk with my dad.. Good times...

I Had To Pick Up A Load In "Mason,Ohio"

I Do Believe Thats Not Very Far At All...From Where You Live

Thank you MyHome in regards to my bubble.laugh

Where my mobile home was sitting I could see the Mts from my front room and they were beautiful to wake up to in the morning and in the evening too especially when there was snow on them.the sun would shine and the snow would resemble gold or bronze color.

There was a mobile home across the street from me with a palm tree across the side yard of it and on the top of the mts there was snow.I was tempted to take a picture of that scene and place it on a Christmas card.
Nam Mason Ohio is about a 30 minute drive from me. I've been to the King's Auto Mall out there too.
Cc,yes it is very beautiful....But I don't miss California...laugh
I Dont Miss California... Either Miss Home

MyHome I don't miss California either.Although I do miss the 7 orange trees that was on either side of my trailer though.I used to use my juicer and make fresh orange juice instead of buying that store bought junk.laugh
