A Trip To The Dentist.

Yesterday morning I took a trip to my dentist in Pittsburgh North Suburbs;but it was a assistant in his office named Donna who did the tough job of cleaning my dentures and then gave me a toothbrush, a tube of toothpaste and some dental floss-all paid for by state and federal medicare assistance!grin banana

Nature in Your Life and Better Health

Is more nature in your life the secret to better overall health?

Do you have nature deficiency disorder? Increasingly, we have become an indoor society as well as one that is glued to a screen of some sort (ie: hand held devices, tablets, laptops, etc.). Nature is the outdoor environment that includes close association with trees, plants, open air and sunshine. It doesn’t have to be in the wilderness and can include time spent in a park, a local trail or conservation area. Gardening outdoors is another simple way to be in nature, even if you live in a big city. There is a growing body of evidence indicating that there are significant health benefits from simply being in nature.

Health Benefits:

1. Being outdoors means more opportunity for the sun to stimulate vitamin D production in your skin. Simply put, more nature means more vitamin D in your body. On it’s own, vitamin D can benefit cognition, mood, immune functions and bone health.

2. Nature speeds healing. A study that looked at recovery after gallbladder removal surgery compared two groups: those with a room with a window view of a natural scene compared to those with the view of a brick wall. Those with a nature view had a shorter hospital stay, gave less negative comments and took fewer potent painkilling medications.

3. Nature has restorative effects on the mind and on your energy overall. Compare the typical urban environment where there are many things that demand your attention: the cars driving by, constant and varying noises, many lights and other stimuli. However, in nature, it’s a different kind of busy: sounds of the wind in the trees or of a nearby stream or brook or birds chirping. Nature provides more interesting ways to observe and engage as opposed to the sudden and dramatic stimuli in the city environment. Studies on mental benefits of nature walks have shown that they can restore and improve cognitive functions and performance.

4. More calories burned. Exercise done outdoors burns more calories when compared to the same amount of time and exercise performed indoors.

5. There are social health benefits with access to nature. A Chicago study found that there is a significant decrease in crime rates, violence and aggression when urban areas are surrounded by green space compared to other urban areas with limited greenery. Think about how you can green your space, even if it is just indoor plants and indoor gardening…and watch your mind bloom!

6. The Journal of Health Psychology published a study that looked at how the body recuperated after a stressful experience. The researchers found that 30 minutes of gardening after a stressful experience reduced the level of stress hormone (cortisol) much more effectively than reading a book indoors. It also found that gardening led to a significantly more positive mood.

7. Nature can also invoke deeper feelings of connectedness and inspiration. Imagine the power and awe of witnessing a waterfall, or an expansive mountain scene or of a flowering meadow. Studies have found improved aspects of spiritual well-being such as an improved sense of purpose, connectedness and faith in a larger reality.

"GET A 2ND OPINION!"(LINDA DIDNT)

Shes just someone I met 5 years ago.Shes married to someone and she has made me her big brother(She never had a Brother nor a Sister). Her name is Linda and shes now 58 years old. years ago she started getting a pain in her hip(She worked at a department store)and she would always close the cash drawer with her hip(So she thought nothing of it at 1st).Then it got worst so she went to the Hospital(They referred her to a specialist)The doctor there said she might have Cancer...So they gave her a test for it.After 2 weeks the resaults came back. They told her she was cancer free and said she would be alright.8 months went by and the pain came back and she could hardly walk(Back to the Hospital).Another test. The Verdict?..She has a rare form of Cancer(The growth at this point was the size of a grapefruit and it was into her Pelvic bone.Chemo therapy was next.shes lost all her hair.her left leg is useless and its spread to her liver now.shes gone down to 100 pounds and still dropping.I saw her last night and shes crying all the time(its hard not to lose it..but i held up).She wont be around by the time Christmas arrives.and thats sad as hell to watch someone dying. The moral of the this story is.ALWAYS GET A 2ND OPINION!!!!.If shed had done that they could got have gotten it in its infancy, and the doctors said that couldve made a difference.Now.Its all over for Linda."Cradle your Life..It is Priceless".She maybe has weeks left so Im going there now at her house to see her.And to put on the act that everything is alright.(If shed had only gotten a 2nd opinion)

ABOUT AGE

Yes, I am an older man, but I am not looking for a wife. I had one
of those for 50 years. Now I am too old to marry again.

A compatible woman (with a car) could be a live-in companion/driver, but not under 45 years of age. Visually impaired people are not permitted to drive,so that would be the only way for me to get around. Public transport is tough when you can't see very well and taking a taxi around a big city is not cheap.

I am often asked how I manage to communicate on line. The answer to that is. 'With a magnifier and great difficulty'.

If young women wish to visit me for a massage, that is OK too. I am
well qualified and a board certified Physical Therapist. Very good at it too. I make friends and money that way. Only people with dirty minds suspect my motives, but that is their problem, not mine.Such ignorance of the many biblical texts referring to the beneficial effect of 'The laying on of hands' is pitiful.

As a matter of fact. Three years ago, a young woman of 24 who was
a Victoria's Secret model, came to me for a massage. Since that time, she has married and had two children. She continued to come every week through both pregnancies until about the 7 1/2 month,
and still comes every week. Ergo, what does age matter, if she just wants a massage.
