Ok. Before I let the dogs out

I’m so inclined to text my customer back. The idea of buying a full carat diamond for the price of a 3/4 or 1/2 diamond price at my experience is really ticking me off. Sure, they have a budget. It’s not a mystery that a car salesperson works entirely on a commission. You buyers expect me to make nothing so you get what you want fukc all the rest? Please, get over yourselves and buy what you can afford. I’m sick of it and pretty close to saying it to the next jerk. I would rather starve like I already am than cater to your idiotic sense of entitlement.

Flyboys

I realize now that I take life as a social experiment. People fascinate me. The dynamics of the work place never proves boring.

I started working as a car salesperson. Everyone is called “buddy” even me. Lol. I hear it so much that I now say it, even to my pets. “Hey, Oskar buddy, how are you?” It sort of takes the gender issue away.

I am the only female in sales. When someone addresses us as boys or gentleman, I am quick to add “and lady”. I feel like I am a part of a band of brothers. This makes me understand that I like men. They’re not so bad. I like having bros.

The cool thing is feeling like an equal. I never was militant about women’s rights but I love that these bros have to admit that I’m holding my own in this depressed car sales times.

I’m not aggressive in my tactics. I am simply myself and have had a pretty good start, considering...after all, I’m the only salesperson to get tips. Nice tips.

Now I am learning the language. There is one. It’s so foreign. Like another planet with spinning paper and lay downs, blow outs, etc. Just learning the lingo keeps me interested. Am I bilingual? At the end if a shift, I think I am. I just need to practice the language of auto sales.

Ok. I’m doing more thinking

What if there’s more than one kind of long term relationship? Like, even if the junk is superficial, it can still stand the test of time.

I also watched a few movies where the wife, not any husbands, suffered memory loss and had to reconnect with their spouses. What if we all had to reconnect intimately to a stranger? Could it be done? Can we make magic by the suggestion of magic?

I know there’s such a thing as chemistry. What a concept to meet a long time lover for “the first time”. Shit like this makes me wonder

the holiday gas price gouge...

Gas prices in Florida have been fluctuating 5 +/- cents as a normal. They went down toward the end of June and shot up 21 cents on the first of July.
That could be the most significant change I've seen in a while. If I recall correctly, it was after a hurricane where flooding knocked out some refineries along the Gulf coast and gas prices jumped.
Depending on the neighborhood, we are around $2.75 to $3.00 a gallon.

I got pulled over by the police... License, Registration, Proof of Insurance

The other morning, on the way to work, I tried to get through an intersection but it appeared there was an accident under the light and at least 10 cars couldn't get through. To avoid it, I made a right turn into the parking of a drug store that went out of business nearly 3 years ago.
There was usually trash and overgrowth of shrubs in this place and more often than not, some homeless people had taken residence in the store front covering. I noticed there were 2 police cars side-by-side and they were talking. Having seen this hundreds of times, I didn't pay any attention to them.
Before I could exit the parking lot, I heard a siren an saw red and blue lights flashing in my rear mirror. I stopped. Rolling down my window a cop came up to my car asking if I knew why I was pulled over. My response was "I have no idea." He explained I was cutting through a parking lot but my reply explained about the blocked intersection and... the drug store was not in business anymore.
While he was checking my identification, the 2nd police car pulled alongside me and a woman officer got out. She mentioned it was 'private property' and I was trespassing. I said, there were no signs stating this and she pointed to a (really small) sign pasted on the side of the building column that read: Private Property - Keep Out.
I chuckled and said maybe they should have chained the entrance with the sign or posted it in a place where the warning was visible from the street and not AFTER someone enters the property. She nodded and somewhat agreed but said they were only giving me a warning and I shouldn't cut through the lot anymore.
The other officer came back with my ID and repeated it was only a warning. They had trouble with homeless people camping out in the lot leaving garbage and the landlord called on the help of the police to get them out.

BadlyDrawn

Hodgepodge

I was on YouTube and watching videos on everything from art/guitar building to DIY rhinoplasty when I looked in the 'related' column and saw "WORST art restoration fails" with this thumbnail

Does anyone remember this? I thought it was sad at the time and wondered if I could do much better. I wasn't a very good artist and I'm still not an artist, but I am getting better. Anyway, I thought I'd take a shot and see how my attempt might compare. What say you?

Females and mechanical things---such as automobiles....

Sure, there are clued lady mechanics, and race car drivers. Recall that weeny worshiper Amelia Ehrhardt. But in my experience, there is a strong inverse correlation betwen just what women know about such things, and how jealously they guard related imagined perogatives. So, our brilliant graduare twins will need a vehicle for work or more schooling. Mind you, dad buys antique modes of transportation. Touring MC, head turning sports car, solid coastal sail cruisers, and so on. Cheap and do what is expected of them. A joy to maintain. But the girls' mom, Godess bless her, will have none of it. So my default suggestion is to get them hybrid Subaru station wagons---environmentally sound and long lived. Of course, as with most things, dad will pay for most of the bills. Mother dear is listening to the car salesman, lowest of occupations, who avers that while there may be a savings in gas, long term hybrid maintenance is very costly. What?!?! No timing belts, fewer oil and trans services, almost no brake jobs---and lots more. Hopefully, daughters won't be so falsely swayed. But the PC world isn't kind to such valid thinking, based on experience.
