dumbell23: simple question, the amount of time you spend online, what would you do if you didn't have this facility?
Go back to the next technology in line. I lived just fine with a rotary dial phone. In fact I was happier because people actually got together then. Now we just chat online.

I spend a fair amount on my PC but not a HUGE amount (at home). I do need it for my work, I don't just log onto CS. It has become we way we live these days and I simply couldnn't do my job otherwise....

Yea it seems to be anti-social, spending hours looking at a computer screen, What did people do 20 years ago when their was no internet?

Rotary dial...reminds me of the days when party lines were abundant and you could just listen in on several conversations. It was when you needed to make a call, but couldn't, made it very frustrating having to check the phone often. Gotta love technical advancements!

They communicated more face to face but then they also lost out on a chance to meet great people...to learn...to grow with them and just in general to have fun with them from all over the world....

We read, hung out with friends and family, and talked on the phone. I still do those things, just not as much...well, except for the family. Mine moved away. I guess that's why I like this so much. The forums is the majority of my social life now that I don't drink and hang out in bars any more, not like I did 20 years ago.

I suppose it would be like a second family, it is addictive this connecting singles site
It's certainly a great way to broaden our mind and horizons...BUT I would still prefer face to face over the net any day...with all of the great people I have met here....including the man I love....

Read and watch more tv...and go kinda mental.
It's very inconvenient when I have no internet. My computer has crashed a couple of times, so when I sent it in for service, I'd usually borrow my friend's computer. But that whole day or two when I did not have a computer, it really sucked. I need to be connected for many reasons...most of it for entertainment and news/info/knowledge...and frequenting forums...not so much facebook anymore.

Well during the warmer months coming up I would go to town get togethers, where a radio station here holds outdoor free concerts or park bbq's. Or go fishing where many others go and be able to meet more people. Those things all used to happen before all technology stuff came along. People met others in real life at town events. But I will be doing some of these anyway, and still get on the internet.

Makes for having great memories, just getting out and enjoying life. And for me a chance to meet people who like a lot of the same things I do, Barbecues and fishing.
