Scubadiva: Funny, I pulled a joke the other week on a local website and changed my weight from "normal" to "a few pounds over" and ever since I did that, I go zero responses
So now I'm changing it back to "normal", but I think that in and by itself says a lot.
Now on that site, the pix are fuzzed up, so you have to pick people on the basis of their profile first and then ask the person to free up the picture and they can do so or refuse. Quite an interesting approach.
Since without seing the picture, people have to make assumptions based on what you write, I've now seen that in the dating scheme, "a few pounds over" is pretty much the kiss of death for a female.
I always love the men whose profile says "average build" and they're a few pounds overweight, or says "a few pounds overweight" and they're obese...do men not know what they look like in the mirror? And to be fair, men, do women do that as well?

If you look at the averages, they've gone up, so what was the norm 20 years ago, is much more now. Yes, the women do that as well.
I had a gal so big on the back of my bike that I couldn't turn. the front tire was loosing contact with the ground. had to have her get off to turn around.
rasgumby: Sorry, I'm a dude... dude you are not my type.

I know...and I could call myself average if I wanted to use those guidelines...but I don't, because I'm not what I consider an average build to be yet. Just because overweight is now the average doesn't mean it's acceptable as such.
Oops...off of my soap box now, before I get carried away.
