I have a deep and meaningless relationship with at least 5 Filipino wimmins, 7 faceless maltese wimmin thingies, and a transvestite wimmins who I believe lives in Thailand. When they send me emails, I copy/paste them, and send them on to the others....I see myself as a "conduit"....angel

...I'm joking actually....cool

My opinion is if your chat is deep and meaning full, u can get to know each other very well and knowing meeting will happen also takes the dream facter away.
It takes full honesty from both parties to learn and apreciate each other, and when that is happening its reality in ur heart and mind, the meeting is just the icing on the cake. wine

But Lago! How can you say that? Deep and meaningless?! When you called me "Doll" in a thread like oh... months ago!!!

I've been sitting here sewing my wedding dress and everyone's coming and I ordered the pesto sarnies speshly and now you're in a relationship with all these Other Dolls and prolly my life is ruined... how could you?!?

Correction my dear Wordie....the ladies are all in a deep meaningless relationship with one another......I just politely redirect emails.... I think there's a good chance they'll all end up moving in to one large harem together, sans Pasha...angel

How does the weddingdress look?...is it low-cut?....cool

Hi Ghost.

As you know I met my man from here, it was very obvious to many that we were going to meet. We never announced that we were a couple and have never announced it. It is just sort of know that we are.

I would not have considered myself in a relationship without meeting him, we planned our meeting, met and on occasion we would post when we were together.

I see it more over in the Internationals, here not so much.

Hi Wordie, look this is not going well is it?

You thinking you are committed to Lago, the cad, he does that all that time.

He called me darling over a year ago. Drop him and run.

Never, EVER would go public until I had met the guy, spent a DECENT amount of time with him and we both agreed it was time to say something.

To make out you have met your "soulmate" and are "taken", and announce it as such BEFORE YOU HAVE EVEN MET, is MADNESS...

And also, quite often from what Ive seen here - The Cold Kiss of Death..

Yes, one particular couple comes to mind, they announced it and now it seems they are no longer.

It is easy to blame announcing on it not working out. But I do think that it is the people concerned, they do not think it out and like to feel that they are taken and have the acclaim when one does.

But the some feel that it is possible and it can work.

It is not for me, as we met on a thread, then it was sort of known that we were meeting and as soon as the madman launched himself to the forums, some who knew me knew straight away that he was the one that I would meet with a romance interest.

OK - I'm new to CS, and possibly very naive, but what on earth would make anyone announce, even to themselves - let alone the rest of the world, a serious, committed relationship with someone they hadn't met face to face? What would go through their minds?
confused

Lagoona, don't hate me

... and he laughed at something I said just earlier today - so I was already booking my flight to Malta!! Unbelievable!! frustrated

I shall just have to go back to my virtual husband who exists only in my fantasies. He's wonderful - always there when I need him, always says the right thing, thinks I'm the most beautiful thing on earth - and requires no tedious maintenance like cooking, cleaning, laundry etc. etc.

I could never commit to anyone who I haven't seen in person.
This isn't a real relationship, IMO. Although, there is no doubt that this kind of relationship might turn into a real one someday.

Hi Rhiannon

You don't strike me as a naive person at all.

I think it is psychological.,

It is nice to be able to say it out loud, and read people congratulating you, we all like to read nice things about ourselves.

I can understand why people do it, even though it is not the way I would do it.

Yeah it's hard to tell how it works with people, maybe you can recognize a soul mate online? However... I just shared an experience of mine on the inter rants, about getting stuff back from someone I went to live with across the pond, so that might shed some light on this issue. cheers
