sweetowen: Liver & onions with mashed potatoes & gravy is one of my absolutely FAVORITE meals! Love it! In fact, it was what I always requested for my birthday dinner. Mom knew just how to make it too. Of course, we were the only 2 at the table that night, each year...
yeah... liver & onions with mashed potatoes & gravy, love it. My kids hate it though, so I don't make it very often ..
i came back in to see if sweet was a fan of the liver
tongue IS good
LOL!! You love to see what foods I'm eating or that I like, don't you MF? This is one of my faves. But you can keep your tongue! To me, that would be a dirty part too.
CaptainBeirutIII: And no, I'm not having it with a nice glass of Chianti, I'm not Hannibal Lecter.
Fried with mashed potato.
I don't eat it often, but truly enjoy it every now and then. A couple of times a year.
Kidney I can't eat. That's the piss filter, and no one's making me a meal out of a piss filter.
I also enjoy beef liver and sauted onions and chix liver, but only a couple times a year.. today for lunch, I'm just eating a ham-n- cheese sandwich and some chips though..

Ironically, I thought of you as I was eating lunch today...
I made broiled marinated pork chops with garlic & olive oil noodles & peas for dinner last evening. I brought in the leftovers today.
Funny though, when my roomy got home last night, he said, "Mmmm... what did you make for dinner?" I told him & also told him that there weren't any pork chops left over. He said, Oh, I'm going to bed."

Liver & onions is like our national dish, my mum cooked it at least once a week for my entire childhood.Must be done slowly with the onions and gravy in a frying pan, and it must be lambs liver.

One I've tried but didn't care for (because I knew what it was) was Rocky Mountain Oysters.
