In love is infatuation from my stand point and loving can be at the point where they don't or maybe had those intense short lived (its about 2 years at the most) feelings of euphoria. In love can turn into something deeper unfortunately a lot of us are infatuation junkies and when that feeling departs we look for someone else or don't see that the love we have for the person in front of us has more depth. Lots of it has to do with all the intensity and crap we have been fed in books and movies. Just my opinion. I ended my marriage because I thought I wasn't in love anymore when if I had woke up and been smarter would have realized that it could have been something better than going gaga over someone's physical appearance or the idea that I needed them to complete me. Just my opinion.
