Phoenix: He paid the families off.....so they would keep stump. Stupid Q will everybody (brits/ex pats) feel the same when Gary Glitter dies?????
Or is it going to be one rule for him and another for someone else...They are both perverts...plain and simple
Gary Glitter was convicted of child molestation. Michael Jackson was not. I heard rumours that families were paid off, but I have not seen evidence to support that. And I would not just go off words, I would want to see bank transactions and a paper trail as supporting evidence to those claims. There sure will be a media frenzy over this and we here await the conspiracy theories.

Mickey paid off the familes to keep their mouths shut....
Strong words Robert...I would suggest that before you start hurling your judgements and opinions at other "sick" people, that you heal yourself first!!...
Well he was a great singer and dancer and had great fortune and fame ...but he also had a tough life ......nothing can beat a great childhoood and to have that taken away from you means that one has but half a life ...........may he rest in peace
To me Michael Jackson was a great talented showman no matter what happened in his life. He performed fantastic music and will be remembered worldwide. Now let him rest in peace...
Ok, emotions and morals aside for a moment.....just consider this: Turn on your TV and take a look.....it's jackson all over the place. IN media terms, this is HUGE!....what I find interesting is the fact that the media made him, when he came out with the greatest ,biggest, best album of all time, "Thriller"....and then destroyed him in later child molestation charges...now that he's dead, watch the media again....they are milking it for all they're worth....my question is, will they now make a sinner out of him, or a saint, quasi Diana??....do you get my drift??....the media control public perception, and we'll never know what really went down.....same with Jesus Christ actually...

Exactly........
MJ was a fantastic performer, we didn't live his life, can't judge what really happened. I don't support behaviour as the one he was accused of and would have never left my son with him! That doesn't stop me from appreciating his music and powers as entertainer.

I have to agree with you again...Lago. The times we live in.....what is real and what is a media hype!

Sommerauer71: I don't know this and frankly I do not care. If he did, then the families are to blame also. The man is dead.
I do not know if he did with children what they said he did either but lets look at him face value. He was an eccentric that sqaundered (don't know how to spell that word) money that could have helped many. He destroyed his image (literally) and wasted a great talent. Now that he is dead this doesn't change. He did have the nickname wacco jacco or have you forgotten that already. I know that we want to put people that were harmless on pedestals. But ask this question to yourself and answer it honestly would you want to go have a beer with the guy or have him around for Sunday tea? Not me that is for sure.

I think I would..... But there again, things/people who are eccentric, unusual, those that don't 'conform to the norm' really fascinate me.

I disagree that the media 'made' him and destroyed him - they could NOT have 'made' his talent nor could they have shown him dangling his baby child from a Berlin hotel balconey to crowds of people if he hadn't actually done it.
I don't believe made up that he was a sick person - it was apparent in interviews that he wasn't 'all there' in many ways.
I'd also make the point that not being proved guilty does not mean that one is innocent - it just means that the evidence submitted doesn't prove guilt which does not mean a person is innocent and why civil courts often can claim damages against a criminal where the burden of proof is less stringent than in a criminal court.
It is obvious that the man was not the sort of person most parents would invite to sleep in the same bed as their children........... the declarations of 'I love Michael Jackson' from female CS members in the international forums leads me to think that they are abusing the word 'love' which should be the most wonderful and sincere word in the English language.
