Thanks.
She is such a good woman. Kind, loving and was loyal to her husband while he died of cancer. Never even dated after my grandfather died at a young age around 50.
I'm sure God is thinking the same thing..as he is probably counting the moments to have her cherished presence home with him...you were lucky to have such a wonderful presence in your life for so long...
Wikked, this is beautiful. It reminds me of something I said when I was asked to speak at my grandmother's funeral.
Part of it I will quote here.
I thank God for the gift of my grandmother. I thank God that he allowed her to be in my life for 35 years. I also thank God that he waited 35 years for me to strong enough to lose my Grandmother. I thank God also for the gift of the bible, which tells me, I WILL see her again. And at that time, if I live a good and decent life, she will once again pat me on my head and tell me that she is proud of me.

Before daylight this morning my grandmother passed away.
In honor of her:
I am home in in heaven, dear ones; oh, so happy and so bright. There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, you shall rest in God's own hand.
There is work still waiting for you. So you must not idly stand; Do it now, while life remaineth, you shall rest in God's own land.
When that work is all completed, He will gently call you home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting, oh, the joy to see you come.
In honor of Katherine, I love you grandma and may you rest in peace free from pain, free from the physical limitations of your earthly body, you have earned this rest and I will always remember your inspiration in my life.
I learned this for my mother's service, and I still remember it.
If it helps, its my rememberance present
God looked around his Garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain. And knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes, He whispered to you "Peace be yours" and gave you wings to fly. When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain, We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again. You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide, You live on through your children, you're always by our side. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you on the day God called you home
