sweetowen: I hope it was in a good way! Good luck on losing the rest! And yes, I also wonder how much I'd lose if I exercised more.

Yeah it's in a healthy way, I'm not puking it up or doing anything unhealthy. Just been a recent phenomenon.

Ty for the good luck & good luck yourself!

sweetowen: I'm trying to lose about 15 lb. This is pretty tough for me because I've really never had to diet before... any added weight just came off eventually. But as I get older, it doesn't seem to want to budge.

Please share your ideas, recipes, secrets that I might be able to follow. Also, any exercises to take the weight off & firm up.

Now I am the one that wants to gain instead of loose....

But I had helped my Daughter with one and that sure did wonders.

I dont know if you have Bifidus Yougert, well if you have.

Eat Muslie with that in the Mornings

Lunch, eat it with fresh fruit.

Evenings..a normall meals just cut any things like fries, just a plain old good home cooked meel with loads of veges....

No sodas, or sugarfree ones, no alcohol, no in between´s if so a muslie bar..

I know it sounds boreing but its the bouwels that has done the trick with my daughter...

Exercise by long walks, to bed on time and be Happy...

Good Luck, any tips how to gain weight, and not by stuffing yourself with candy bars please...I dont eat that stuff..

Good Luck..........bouquet

Lots of high calorie protein foods such as heavily buttered eggs, fatty meats such as bacon, and fast food (not the best, but it will add the weight)

do not eat carbs, i.e bread,pasta,white rice,pastry..etc.

eat meats drink lots of water and you will see a difference in two to three weeks.

when you do not eat carbs the body must find another source for energy, so it burns the fat already on the body and coverts this to energy.

do not starve yourself of food, only carbs.

eat plenty of food with protein i.e fish, lean meat etc.

keep away from carbs for 4 weeks.

this is only for 4 weeks, if you go on a no carb diet longer than 4 weeks you will start to feel very tired, and unwell.
remember your body needs carbs to run, when it is finished using you bodyfat for energy you must give it carbs.

this is a very effective idea, but can damage your health if used over too long a period.

need any help contact me.

Thanks Johnny! I did cut out the carbs for a couple of weeks. Then I just started buying couscous, whole wheat bread, & whole wheat pasta. I've cut back on salt intake & eat seafood & poultry.

To date, I've lost a total of 15 lbs. And no, I don't starve myself. I'm just eating more sensible & loving it! thumbs up

ok well if u need it fast it'll take abot 2 and a half prob less if u stick to this....
breckfast - slice of brown bread toast scrape of butter (preferably flora light) and a scrape of jam or a low fat cheese single. drink a glass of fruit juice (grape fruit juice burns more calories)

lunch (must have high biological value to make your digestion system working and give you slow release energy to exercise and all) - beans on toast or boiled egg with a small slice of brown bread and lettuice (yes they are ok even though their calories are heigh they have they have high biological value therefore help bodily functions including digestion, and cancle themselves out). Or you can have a fruit smoothy (best for crash diet results and has vital vitamins and minerals needed to keep your body working and digestion working).

Dinner - what ever everyone else is eating but half the sice. You can have what ever you want for dinner once it's only a small side plate full and dont eat after 5 or 6. Obviously burger and chips are no go just stay away from greese and lard.

Snacks: 1 treat of winegums (no saturated fat so are ok) or velvet crunch crisps are ok.
Em you can have two small portions of fruit, dont forget to have a glass of milk.
you can eat as much celery and lettuice as u like because you actually bur more calories eating them than they actually have ie eating them looses weight.
drink 2 - 3 ltr of water a day if you feel hungry drink water.
if that doesnt work 1 can of coke before you work out it'll give you the extra energy you need.

Do 1 hour of exercising per day to keep toned. to include:
a 1mile brisk walk ( dont forget 10 mins of good stretching before and after each exercise session), sit-ups and scwats

Davina McCoil ( I think her name is has an excellent work out) apply yourself to it each day and you WILL see resultts after just 3 days!!!

I know a woman who lost 115 pounds.

She ate breakfast like a KING,lunch like a PRINCE,and supper like a kid.

She watched late night snacks, drank 2 litres of water a day,and walked 45 minutes a day.

Worked for her....

Good luck.

You could do like I did Owen, but I don't think you would want to.

I am probably 15 pounds under a healthy weight for me right now.

Was not overweight and ran 5 miles 4 days a week before my health crisis.

I am trying to bulk up the right way now to try and get back some of the muscle that has atrophied over the last several months.

You know I'd never want to do it as you did, Doc. I'm just glad to hear you're doing so well. I wish I had the problem of having to gain weight!

I've found that just by eliminating foods and drinks that contain High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) and Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) to be very effective in controlling fatty tissues.

One of the major problems with these two "supplements" is that they're in a lot of foods/snacks, condiments and beverages. They activate certain neurons in the brain that enhances cravings. The good news is that they're slowly being removed by the food/beverage manufacturers. Personally, I think HFCS and MSG should be banned completely.

Anymore, I make it a habit to read the ingredients before I buy anything, just to avoid those two supplements. And I really need to update my pic, as it was taken during the time I was indulging without concern of those two culprits. grin

I lost 65 lb with Susan Powter method. 25% calories from fat, plenty of exercise. No hunger. No counting. No re-gained weight.

My own tips: natural sunlight and brightly colored vegetables raise metabolism and mood, so does fun. Beans and high-fiber foods like greens calmed my pancreas (I was pre-diabetic).

The low carb diet made me very sick very fast.
