gooddogman: I see a lot of profiles with a dog, cat, horse, pet or critter in the pictures. You can tell alot about a person and through their pet. Animals don'ttttttttt LIE. If you don't like their animal,or if their pet doesn't like you there will be problems. If you watch a animal interact with their leader (you) you can tell alot about that person. Give it a try. What animal do you have, how do you treat them? No Sheep Jokes//// ok maybe a couple.

Another good thread sir!handshake hug
While I no longer have any pets, I do miss the ones I had. Needless to say, if we ever move out of this apartment complex we'll probably have a dog.grin

Ive only got three dogs, although two of them are VERY large. But as of last night I have ten cats in the house. A female I havent seen for a while came in and had kittens. Along with horses, a goat, and chickens. Oh and my female St. is pregnant. So a few critters dont bother me.bouquet

heidi2765: I have always had pets, even though I have moved quite a lot they have always come with me, the one stable in my son's and my life. They are great companions and teachers...I found that the fact of having pets about the house taught my son(AN ONLY CHILD)to share and care for others. We had very special pets a cat that his dead father gave him and a rescued Gordon Setter, both of them died at an old age but far too soon.
Now we have two siamese cats and our puppy, a french bulldog, life is just not the same without pets.
Anybody who wants to join our little family will have to love and accept the fact that we are animal crazy.
Knowing the pros and cons of animal keeping and caring, my son is starting to study vet medicine now.
Amimals are great teachers. I grew up in a lets say, not ordinary world for a child. My dogs got me through some tough times, they protected me where ever I went. We hunted and fished together...When I played base ball, alone, Rusty would be my out fielder and he would find the ball know matter how hard I would hit it, He would bring it back to me to hit again. I never needed a invisable friend I had Rusty....thumbs up I love the french bulldog what beatiful ears he has almost as big as mine (if Good friend reads this)...lollaughGood luck to your son we need good vets. Please Spay and Neuter.and.Adopt... handshake

thumbs up one of the best dogs I had was Tonka, got him as a rescue animal from the shelter, his time was almost up and fixin to be put down, he was a very large german shepard, huskie and wolf mix and 9 years old with heart worms, they told me he would probably have maybe a year or two left and so I took him home where he put on weight but never regrew the bald strip of fur missing from around his neck where the previous owners had him tied up scold and the neck grew around the collar. He lived for 6 more years, and this "untrainable dog" was a great compainion for me and my daughter. tongue

Raven0: I have a kitten and a rabbit.
The kitty's only about 5 months old now, she will only snuggle with me, and only lets me pick her up. She bites or scratches anyone else.
The rabbit is an albino netherland dwarf. He's going to turn 10 years old in december.
Supposedly those bunnies only live 5-7 years.
I guess I treat them well enough, they act as though I mean something more than food lady and ear scratcher
Your kitty trust you Thats where snuggling starts....So you like to snuggle thats nice.....grin

I have seen the bald neck from a collar and dog chain.....I have seen worse. I have also seen what love and kindness can do. You gave him care that built strength. He now had, what all dogs seek his pack....thumbs up If you give a dog a chance they will never let you down. Thank you for giving a worn out dog a chance, to live. Some of the best dog you could ever want are waiting for people at the shelters, right now...Adopt...a friend and you will have a grateful BEST FRIEND.....handshake hug
