I guess sometime we are just not able to express ourselves in writings. I fully respect the efforts all those people, who want to talk about their religions BUT the moment one tries to exclude other beliefs in an attempt to GLORIFY one particular beliefs, it becomes a "community affair" at best. i am pretty sure that christianity doesn't encourage ONLY to call on christians and talk among themselves. please let us not put a religion in to a BOX. if the followers of a certain religion ONLY want to discuss among themselves, i must say that they haven't found the true "beauty" of that religion even they they claim to have found exactly as such. this kind of thread only promotes the divide between "US" and "THEM", and this kind of division exactly is the last thing that we need in this world full of turbulence.
calmheartseeks: Your desire to have faith is a very good sign God has you in His sights, no matter how far away or nonexistant He may seem to you now. I was just reading about this the other day, that desire for Faith, how it was grace in itself. Those who reject God or have turned away from Him have no desire for faith or to believe.
He's still with you and will carry you through.
I feel like that 'footprints' thing whining away how deserted I feel and maybe I am being carried - who knows?
Ron L Hubbard who started by writing science fiction books and came up with the idea to start a new religion to further fill his pockets. The first lessons he taught was how to enrich yourself with money. Yes I know his work very well Very christian, *ahem cough*
A scientology link? I am sorry, I thought I was linking to the poem regarding Footprints in the Sand poem, which clicking on the link affirms. That is connected to Ron Hubbard and Scientology how?
There is nothing to cough about unless there's something in the coffee.
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."
The LORD replied:
"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

lovinglaura: Brothers/sisters in Christ, let's take a moment to thank the Lord for all of his mighty blessings. also, in doing this, let's start a prayer chain. if anyone needs prayers just state who needs it(initials are fine) and what the prayer is for. Set back and allow God to work. Give him u'r praise. praise him for all he has done for u. praise/prayer requests!
Thank you Laura for starting this thread. Please don't let non-Christians take this over. They always need to do this. Hug from a sister in Christ.
rohaan: Gotta agree. Who is ANYONE to tell others ANYTHING about their own spirituality? It's different for everybody. It's SUPPOSED to be. When will so-called Christians ever understand this? God wants individuality. Folks who don't "get" this are way, way misguided. If you're a mom or a dad, do you want all the kids to be carbon copies of each other? Should every flower, bird, reptile, etc... look and act the same? Think Think Think, people. (rodolpho-I believe you do get it.)
God does not want carbon copies of each other, that is why God gave everyone a free will.to make their own chices and decisions,to believe or not to believe.to believe in what they want to believe, not to believe in what they do not want to believe in.God does not tell people to believe in him,nor does God make someone believe in him,nor does God make anyone worship him,all of these choices someone must make out of their own free will.God does not tell someone they are wrong to believe in something, only mankind tries to tell someone what they can believe in or what they cannot believe in.
God does not tell someone how to live their life, only mankind tries to tell someone how to live their life,God does not tell someone they have to fit in or conform, but God lets them who they want to be.God's love does not end only mankind loves end.
God does not tell me they are wrong to believe in something, only mankind tries to tell someone what they can believe in or what they cannot believe in,God does not try to take away someone's freedom or free speech
