hopefloats: I think we've all been guilty of adding to a resurrected thread without observing the original date or checking to see if the OP has changed anything from their OP, even if it's when we first came to this site....
thumbs up

hopefloats: It would be good to be able to lock your own thread. Actually, it would probably save some work for the moderators when one's thread gets hijacked by trolls and/or slaughtered in discord the OP could nip it in the bud as soon as it gets out of control. The adverse side effect would be alot of repeated thread topics, as if they're aren't enough already simply because someone wants to comment on a locked thread.....you know, kinda like they do when one gets removed altogether, someone starts a thread about it....
I am with you on that Hope. You drinking already??laugh wave

Da10th: Because situations change in life of the things we discuss. The thread eventually gets buried & forgotten until someone inadvertantly resurrects the thread.

I don't blame the individual for resurrecting the thread because they are only offering their opinion of the situation at hand.

Does anyone else think that it would be a good idea for CS to allow the creator of a thread to have the option to lock it to prevent it from being bumped any further beyond the OP's original intent?

I don't know what sense that would make but to each their own.

It would keep drama from the past from resurfacing and possibly causing further drama. (Currently happening in a thread)

Just to add, it could prevent drama from even becoming an issue in a thread by as hopefloats put it, nipping it in the bud.

I'd agree with that except for one reason. It would give people a chance to attack people and delete their thread before the mod could do anything about it.

I think the opportunity to edit a post would be far more beneficial, not in agreement with locking a whole thread, there are some here who would lock every time someone disagrees with their OP
