Englishman55: A friend of mine invited me to dinner last night along with another couple.
We had about 6 courses.... all good and included a fine steak and then a choice of either apple struddle or apple crumble for dessert.
Good wine, good food, great company and stimulating conversation.
A very nice evening
Home-made...? or restaurant....? What colour was the tablecloth? What colour was the serviettes ...were they paper or linen? Candles on the table? .. Flowers? .. Made from pastry, apples, raisins, saltanas and cinnamon I think ! maybe some other ingredients in theer too.

You are refering to Apfelstrudel...the pastry is pulled out real thin so that you could almost read a news paper through it ..then it is filled with apple slices raisins sugar cinnamon rolled up and baked..i is eaten warm with a vanilla sauce..it is very good
but apple cobbler is good to i think

Last night ... my 9 year old grand-daughter did the cooking ..... Chicken breasts in lemon/herbs/butter, basmati rice, creamed spinach, and a little bit of brocolli. First time I ever seen her and her brother willingly eat vegetables! hahaha.
Tonight she`s doing Chinese Stir-Fry! She spent the afternoon chopping all the veges ..... gonna be interesting .... they include most of the "verboten" vegetables they NEVER eat!
The parents are away so we each take turns cooking the evening meal. Her brother (13) said he`ll just buy a take-away roast chicken and bread when its his turn

Last night I crashed out in my muckers in Sarkoville proper..We watched the The Merseyside Ramblers on one PC and Juventus on another(football)...Several beers, some excellant hemp ciggies
And the on the menu was pre-frozen fish pie bought from my muckers local 7/11...Well he heated it in the micro. Kinda means someone else cooked for me.

Last October. Spanish food made by my daughter and her partner in Barca.
The Turkish couple with a shop in Germany made my dinner last night ..... my daughter-in-law brought 5 Schwarmas home for dinner ... all wrapped in tin-foil .. ready to eat. Quite a nice change, actually .. very fattening..... but satisfying!.... full of hot chilli and yogurt sauce..

Last night, my exhusband he took care of kids at his place, made great food, some vegetables, stuffed with meat i couldnt resist when i came for kids
