It's not good, we have high winds with rain thismorning. Got the dust yesterday evening.
The wind blew a couple of fly screens off the 2nd story wondows, i'll fix them when i get home thisafternoon.

Looks like the entire top 4 inches of central Australian red dirt has been blown to the coast visability 5 metres at best
the air is think with it its like eating dirt
Omg my carlooks like its drivin thru a sand dune ffs!!!
I have to drive 380 kilometres today
gonna be a nightmare

My section of the coast has copped it
who else on the eastern seaboard is effected?
be careful all on the roads and if your asthmatic its gonna be brutal

bloody awful to say the least. Everything is just white. I agree Kizzy its awful to drive in, the wind is horrendous. I had the aircon on, but it was taking the air from outside

when i was a kid...melbourne had dust storms...1st time i saw one was at the beach...i looked over the ocean and could see what looked like a cyclone of red dust headed our way...never forget it, as everyone on the beach started screaming and running not knowing what the hell was happening....anyway we ran to the car, started driving off when it hit us....we had to pull the car over as it passed us, shook the car from side to side the winds were so strong!!...IT WAS SOO SCARY....

I remember 1983! Horrible! Not saying Melb is perfect....just am thankful all is ok at present :)

It's fricken AWESOME! It's about a 7hr drive from Melbourne... My pop built this house right across from the ocean, and there's a rock pool down on the beach...had the best view!! He had a long veranda at the front, used to sit out the front and have breakfast, then at night you could hear the wave's crashing...the house was sold just before he died....he live's across from the house he built in the cemetary now...so, yeah he didn't move far!...that place is so spiritual to me...love it and miss it soo much...last time i was there, 2yrs ago now, i found out i was pregnant!...
