The Junior Members are distraught - what if the roads are blocked and we're snowed into Lyon for Christmas???!?!? What if we can't get to the mountains??? (Don't worry. I already have snow tyres on the car.)

We got a village sized skating rink now! The snow was just enough so that it formed a nice sized ice layer .. haha .... Time to get out the grandkids plastic sledge and get the old guy across the road to haul me to the supermarket....for fresh bread, and then round the corner for the crate of beer... He gets a free beer on the way home.......

A nice balmy -3 today, sun's out and no wind. Back to a T shirt and jeans.
Amazing what a few days of -46 can do, to make one appreciate those more pleasant days.

Here in southwest France it started snowing this afternoon and it's still snowing. Not much accumulation yet, maybe 3 or 4 centermeters. But by morning it'll be a mess I think. Gee I wish Global Warming was real.

snow here this weekend, black ice, temperatures plummetted to -5 for us here in Manchester ... what was that about Global warming, again ..?
Ooohh ... is VERY cold here! Today is only minus 3c - yesterday was minus 10c. Went walking today, scrunching thru the snow ... lovely ... ended up in a pub .... for a hot coffee .... then a cold beer ... then another cold beer ..(the pub has underseat heating!)...... then a Kafee-fertig ........ then decided I better get home before it got too dark!

Ah yes... I was told the "correct" method for Kafee-Vertig today ..... you put a coin in the glass .... pour in the coffee till you cant see the coin anymore ... then fill with the schnapps till you can see the coin again .... then fill with hot water. even had a different Recipe for it!
Only problem is I use Benedectine liquour which is DARK ... so hahahahahaaaaa........ Fall-down-drunk-Kafee-Finito!
