the existence of God or not, belongs to a philosophical position and conception

Traditionally, idealism and materialism have been displaying their position during times, and thus have got its followers

Obviously, a scientific background does not support such belief. However there are idealistic people with a materialist practice and viceverza

People believe on God because this regime(world regime) invest thousands of mllons of dollars in that belief, in religious and churches ( thus traditions and customs)

Most people cannot see this frame and thus prefer to follow the current events with no a critics rather than a conformism and reject to any other change

If you cut that huge amount of money investment ( from a few bunch of group money power) in religious, churches and traditions that belief certainly will disappear on people

The problem is in the terrenal place not from above , on the skythumbs up

Belief in God is not a purely financial question, even Indians living in the Amazon forest has its rituals to worship their gods or spirits of their deads handshake

ninamil: If you profess to believe in something the least you can do is read the official text of your religion - and that would be the Bible. The whole thing - not just the New Testament.

You right, but I´ve had reading LÉangele Selon Le Spiritism and some books of psychiatry(anothers sources)...

again beliefs and not believes

The Old Testament has been replaced by the New Testament. The
Old Testament is worthless other than historical perwospective.
I would rather just read the New Testament. cool

Happiness67: I have chosen to be non-religious after many years of self-study of different religions, their origins, similarities, differences (surprisingly few), incitement to hatred, war, intolerance, torture and cruelty. Religion has been used to justify so many evils throughout history from persecution through to genocide and today's hot topic, child molestation. Apart from the evils committed by the humans I find it incomprehensible that any deity would allow these to be committed in his/her name.

If you profess to believe in something the least you can do is read the official text of your religion - and that would be the Bible. The whole thing - not just the New Testament.

Hello Agma, I did not post it. it was a mistake made by me; first thread that I posted and did know how it worked well. I still makes many mistakes grin

I don't do religion, but believe and I'll give you one of my reasons in brief.

As a lover of science I have learned that there are rules......call 'em laws. While we do not have a full understanding of the universe we have a decent enough grasp for my reasoning to believe in a creator - god - whatever ya call it.

This is about LIFE. One of the basic laws is that entropy increases.....simply stated - things tend to go from complex to simple. An easy example is an apple. We have all seen an apple rot. It goes from the complex order of having a skin and insides w/ seeds all made up from different cells and complex molecules back to what it used to be.....a few elements, compounds and water. No matter how long you wait it will never go back towards more complex.

Now take that seed we find inside the apple. It can in time become a tree which in turn can produce apples itself. It is ALIVE. If one of those apples should fall from the tree or if the tree itself is brought down we will see complexity become simplicity again.

Seems to me that LIFE actually is contrary to nature. It can't be unless it is made to live or is given life.....the ability to become more complex - and even reproduce.

To me - life demostrates a higher power.....whatever you may call it.

This is one example of how I defend(explain) my belief and still need no religion.
