See who's the loudmouth now!! Who's calling the Maltese archipelago as "farted on islands"? Being the outsider who's come to settle here, you should show more respect for the islands & their people than wasting your time to foul mouth the place you've "adopted" just because we speak English!!

I scrolled up and saw his 'farted on islands' post..... so I was WRONG but I believe it was in retort to a really nasty post from the other guy.
I don't know......... all I know is that this is my home and has been since 1968 and definitely 1970 when I went to school here.
I was ALWAYS aware that I was a guest, but feel less alien now that Malta is in the EU and I am an EU citizen.

But say the truth - Living in Malta & Gozo what were the first words to learn? (I think I know the answer). For the guy that compared the Maltese Islands with Zeus fart, well I do more beleive that he created the Maltese Islands after a great party organised by Bacchus.

Working in the Hospitality Industry, I usually take my holidays when other persons are at work, and beleive me when I say there's no other place on earth (maybe Fiji)which I still have to visit, that I want to be in. Hopefully will be there in 2 weeks time for the Nadur Carnival. Will be coming up on Sunday evening when the Maltese will be back to Malta and the real Carnival starts

Yes, Gozo is the place to get away from it all. But I prefer it when there are few people around

A little, Oslo......... I speak a little every day, but I do need to increase my vocabulary ........... and I listen intently to what is said in Maltese and try to understand.
One thing I need to do is get hold of some book that teaches Maltese in English; I fear I'll never be fluent but maybe be good as a foreigner trying to speak 'pidgin' English.
I'm half Welsh but have no desire to speak Welsh, but I'd like to be capable of a better conversation in Maltese than I'm capable of as yet.........

....But that is the whole point....you should never have had to feel like an alien ever!! Malta & Gozo have been a part of Europe all along & not just since we joined the EU!! Apparently this is something all you foreigners forget, when it is convenient for you to do so!!
But what we do remember is.... under foreign rule, especially under British rule, local amenities & most(the best)areas where out of bounds for us locals, having been taken over by the British forces!!! No wonder everyone here treats us like we were the scum of the earth!!!!
That is YOUR idea of how & what we ARE, but let me assure; official represantative or not, will never allow anyone like you or MiamiPetey, to rundown our country or make fun of us in any way!!! There's so much you don't know about our islands....Better to catch up on some good history, & not just the kind you find in books....instead of running around trying to impress!!! I guess you need some

Why shouldn't they??? If they intend to make it their home??? If I go to a foreign country, it's expected of me to speak, at least in english....which isn't my native tongue, therefore, if they are here to stay, they SHOULD! Even better for them to feel more @ home.... NO??

I don't see the point you are making here - they should feel accepted or they are still foreigners? You obviously don't have much time for anyone not born on the island. It sounds like they are barely tolerated but I imagine it's ok for them to spend their money there.
