jvaski: What a Superb and Brilliant Job Obama Did Tonite !!
Can anyone remember in their lifetime - seeing a president deliver such a complicated and emotionally driven speech without reading a teleprompter ?

I have only three questions ;

(1) Why were the "Right" sitting to his Left ?

(2) Why can't they clap like everyone else when brilliant things are said ?

(3) WHY are they even invited to such a historic event when they have no political power ? Oh, and the jerk who did the Republican response ( what was his name again ? ) Did he have a hand up the back of his head ?

Jvaski,

You still gulping down the Kool-Aid aren't you.

When you gonna learn man?

We already know Obama is a liar and fraud, so now, going forward, it is just a question of what he is lying about this time, and how much is he lying.

Sheeees.

I don't pay any attention to what he says, I just try to watch what he is up to behind the closed doors of his non-transparent administration.

So you support him because you want to think outside the box and want change huh?

Be real careful of the changes that are coming. You may not have thought of it, but not all change is the kind of change you will be happy with .

He thinks his speeches are so great he gave a DVD of his speeches to the Queen of England.

Not that she wanted them.

"they had no trouble at all getting our tax dollars into the hands of the banking and insurance industries.. and am i understanding that they now want to tax us to pay for the balance of the bailouts.. "

They are taxing ( fees ) the banks who took bail-out money - which has pissed-off wall street. It only seems fair that those who contributed to the economic failure help pay back tax payers.

and, If you listened to the Geitner hearing today , had we not made urgent decisions to to dole-out bail-out money we would have suffered catostrophic financial failure leading to civil unrest . Aparently high level discussion was taking place at the time to discuss how to control anarchy in the streets.
Personally I hate the idea that these very banks that purposely made greedy securities investments and caused the problem - received funds to continue - But had they been allowed to fail we all wouldn't be second-guessing the bail-out idea.

jvaski: Americans are not going to benefit from healthcare if large corporations are allowed to operate without competition or regulation by government. Somebody has to do it - as unfortunate as that sounds ...........

jvaski: You are correct Anna ...... but unfortunately it goes way beyond that . The recent supreme court ruling will further encourage huge corporations to literally put the person of their choosing in the next presidency ! It is very scary to think how with a little collaboration - World Bank or Insurance Corporations could be running our country.
Unions have the same Leeway under the ruling.
I really get a kick out of it,everyone screaming about the Corporations, especially since the Unions got around the Rule way before that Supreme Court Ruling!rolling on the floor laughing

I watched it......and my fair and unbiased opinion is in Dude Obama thread. Were do you get the REP did not clap for him? I remember the part of the speech were he invited them into the gov't very well....and they clapped quiet alot then. Amazing what Brown's win did in Washington.

Admit, Jvanski....you need us. The FED gov't and the country is to big for the DEM to run alone. Specially for an inexperience POTUS.
You need that sagely REP advise....like......don't give terrorist Miranda rights to early after capture.....so they will talk more to you.

So since we are back olive branches and kissy face here. And DEMs trying to compromise REP principles on Health Care with contracts and
earmark approvals.

But was a good State of Union....well prepped.....and yes, the lack of a teleprompter......was surprising. But I got the count on the Nancy Pelosi pop ups claps and cheerleading(47). She reminds me more and more of bobble head all the time. Poor old Joe beside...he is getting worn out and seems his knees are shaking and getting weak after standing applause no. 30. But he did make it to number 47....
