Hi Bobanwave I think when the funny becomes down right nasty or involves using someones name as the so called butt of your joke whne in reality you are demeaning that person. Then that draws the line and in my opinion is no longer funny. uh oh

truly difficult to know folks whom you've never met face to face, those who live in lands around the world. Only guage we have is what we read and interpret on here and at times we misjudge...in those cases that old adage, overworked as it may be applies..."to err is human..to forgive..divine"buddies

Common sense and respect is the fine line. Some things you can say to certain individuals, and those same things you just can't say to other individuals. Say it goes with knowing the limits with the posters you banter with.

I have met here people who have a low tolerance , when it comes to humor ...
and what you are saying is absolutely true ... hurting someone just to have a "moment".. ain`t good

I think it's a case of if they were stood in front of you would you say that. If you wouldn't then there is a fair chance you've gone too far.

Everyone has differnent boundaries and levels of tolerance. If one crosses the boundary, one has to respect that and apologise. If the recipient doesn't wish to accept the apology, so be it, at least one tried.
