RayfromUSA: It doesn't matter how you twist it or how many negations you apply, without faith, it is impossible to please God.

I agree
Blind faith is the basis of your belief

laugh Nothing blind about "saving" faith. I know why I believe and what I believe. Like the Apostle Paul said, "I am convinced...".

Everyone has faith of some sort. When you fly in a plane, you have faith the pilot is not drunk and has his flying license. There are even those that do NOT have faith.....like the married person with their spouse.

If you would actually read what you deny as false, your eyes may

An esteemed scholar once told me something like "The Truth is a function of the confidence you have in your hypothesis"
Being convinced?
It changes,doesn't it?
Faith in Flying? More like gambling on the odds.Poor illustration.
A faithless marriage is just a sham and a shame. But that's a different usage of "faith".Not the same meaning.

One does not begin an Inquiry by knowing the answer in advance.Faith in a pat answer?
That is a private matter without any means of validation.
If you take the answers to your questions personally you will have difficulty with the answers not fitting.
Thus we learn-the hard way.
Why not just forego the Last Word on any subject?
Make it easier to learn.

Being convinced changes? Perhaps for those that are wishy-washy/indecisive.

It's pretty trite to always use the term, "Poor Illustration". Give reasons for your thesis please.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

"Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (1 Corinthians 12: 20-25)

That poor, poor, baby...the hell he went through before dying. The father had good reason to be afraid for his son. I hope the mother and step-father suffer greatly while in jail.
