In other words you are suggesting I dumb myself down and just accept blind faith that everything that is written in the bible is fact whether it makes sense or not? That is strange because not too long ago a devout christian on here told me that everything in the bible is alligorical and should not be taken literally. ooby_dooby: Well, I just thought I'd ask a question about the origin of human beings according to the bible because there seems to be 2 creations of people which makes no sense.
In truth, I didn't expect to get a logical answer and so I'm not disappointed. All you get if you ask for an explanation or attempt to make some sense out of these texts are quotations from the book itself complete with numeric references to chapter & verse and/or you are told that you don't understand or worse, that you are incapable of understanding.

No, I'm just asking a question which is confusing me. It seems that according to Genesis, god created people on the 6th day but then it goes on to say there was nobody to till the land so he created Adam & Eve. I'm not making this up it's right there go look it up. Am I not allowed to ask a question?Are you going to do this to the other religions too

It is one thing to ask a question if you genuinely want to foster real communication with people different from you.
It is another thing when a person asks a question just to draw people out and procede to degrade and belittle them. This is what I feel you are doing.

I read somewhere that chapter 2 of Genesis is a summary of what happened in chapter 1. I hope this is of help. Other people have had this type of question too. I take Adam to be a physical person in chapter 1 of Genesis.

ooby_dooby: I'm not a bible scholar, in fact I've hardly read much of the bible except in motel rooms as a sleep aid. I'm a little confused about the origin of people on earth according to the book of Genesis. It seems the text of Genesis is all numbered so that would imply some chronological order to the story. For example:
Being a "buybull scholar" is less useful than studying Shakespeare. I'd be more impressed by someone who can recite Scenes and Acts rather than "Chapter and Verse".
The writers and believers of the Book O' Blood couldn't and can't get their fictions straight. There are four "gospels" that disagree with each other, three "ten commandments" that disagree, and two creation myths that disagree.
As the saying goes, when you tell the truth, you don't have to worry if your story fits, whether that be the facts or the story itself.
The Big Bang, abiogenesis and evolution fit the facts. The Book O' Blood doesn't, so it doesn't matter if the condictions can't be grasped or explained.

Adam and Eve were performance artists and believed physical labor was beneath them and would interfere with the creative process thus depriving the world of their creative vision.
