Godsgift: Similar to yourself. A few years back I was invited by a friend to Christmas dinner. They were having goose which I wouldn't be the keenest on but I ate out of politeness. She said it was stuffed with sweet breads....I kept eating....and then some idiot informed me what sweet breads were! I could eat no more
Pass the trifle!
oooo, i LOVE sweetbreads...fried up in butter, maybe with bacon...yummy
jeffc320: My dad used to cook pigs feet when i was small. Apparently i loved them. Not a chance these days. Goat curry in Jamaica was ok if a little fatty with gristle. I absolutely love whitebait in my local Italian restaurant, tiny little fish deep fried whole with salad and tartare sauce.
demonfairy: When i was young i spent the night with a friend. Her mother fixed us brains&eggs scrambled...I liked it,but she didn't tell me that i was eating pig brains and eggs till after wards.... What is the strangest food you have eaten?
Normal food for me: chicken stomachs & hearts in a soup - lovely! Pig's ears in brine - yummy! Chicken bums (the parson's nose, not the acutual bum) barbecued in Jerudong Park, Brunei - simply divine!!!
ladyfingers: we call them mountain oysters....never had them, but i've heard they are delicious
here they are called prairie oysters or beef knackers...and they are delicious...haven't had then in years hard to get in the city... beef heart is also good...

have actually had porcupine, caribou, calimari, a Greek cheese that is served on fire, and out here we eat smelt, a kind of squishy small narrow trout-like fish. (I don't like it) Mussells, if they're not in "red" season, crawdads, which are very good. Can't think of anything else right now.

Love that greek cheese...will be having that next week when the greek festival starts here.... Smelt are great when caught fresh and fried right away...
eeeow! porcupine? and after you used the quills for toothpicks?
I have feta in my fridge right now...always have iton hand. My dad used to go fishing at night for smelt, best time to catch them. Always had a freezer full. I wouldn't touch them until I grew up..then found out i'd missed something. Mussells make me ill, but love clams and oysters, calimari deep fried ok, but rubber like, would rather have fried clams.

all right smarty pants:
As I sat down one evening, within a small cafe A forty year old waitress to me these words did say I see you are a logger, and not a common bum 'Cause nobody but a logger stirs his coffee with his thumb
My husband was a logger, there's none like him today If you'd pour whiskey on it, he'd eat a bale of hay He never shaved the whiskers from off his rough old hide He'd drive them in with a mallet, and bite them off inside
This logger was a terror, and I don't want to boast But every morning for breakfast he'd eat rattlesnakes on toast For sauce he'd use their venom, to cure his hunger pangs Then wipe his chin with the rattle, and clean his teeth with the fangs... love you!

I have a very good friend from Oz--they eat all kinds of things, toads, roasted beetles, gators, the whole maryann--of course they don't think anything of it, usually it's in the Outback, similar to us camping and cooking shrimp over a fire, etc...

I've eaten many kinds of foods and nothing is ever strange for me to eat as I'm not a picky eater.
Oksok:rendered fat from a seal (nuttek)
Seal intestines braided and boiled
Muktuk:skin of whale
Polar Bear feet
Caribou brains (boiled to perfecton) tongue heart liver
Ground squirrel boiled or cooked over an open fire.
*All meat snad bones are used in one way or another so nothing is ever wasted.
