You were created in his image, so this shouldn't be too difficult. Imagine you are God. You are all there is. You are everything. And whatever you think is reality. Whatever you imagine is just because you think it. How long would it take you to become bored? And if you were bored, what would you do? Amuse yourself? But how? By creating the Universe? Maybe, but what to create it from? If you are all there is, then you would have to create it from yourself and it would be a manifestation of your thought. And how would you be entertained by such a universe? Maybe you would create it as the great virtual reality game made of yourself by yourself and populated by yourself. And, of course, it wouldn't be a very good game if it wasn't completely absorbing, so you would have to forget your true nature while you played the game. And you would have to be able to lose the game as well as win or there would be no point in playing. And when the game was over, you would rearrange the pieces and play again as often as you pleased.
If your character was one of any number of religious sects, you would likely spend all your game play trying to figure out who made the game and would surprised at the end to realize you frittered away your time trying to find yourself.
If your character was into metaphysics, you would likely spend your life trying to figure out how to manipulate your own thoughts from which the game was actually made.
If your character was a philosopher, you might think about these things and decide that the purpose of the game was just to play it and so you would, savoring the richness of it's experience.
I'd rather not believe I'm God..I do believe in my own personal God though..(My God),and there was a time when I put other things first in front of my God,and therefore..lost my God.

A Hindu legend says we were all once gods. But eventually we abused our powers. Brahma, the chief god, decided to punish us by taking away our divinity. Brahma called a meeting of the other chief gods to figure out where to hide our holiness.
One god suggested hiding it deep beneath the earth. “No,” Brahma said, “man will just figure out a way to tunnel miles below the surface.” Another god suggested hiding our holiness at the bottom of the ocean. “No,” Brahma responded, “man will just learn how to dive to the seabed.” A third god came up with the idea of placing our divinity on top of a towering mountain. “No,” Brahma said, “man will just climb every tall mountain on the planet until he finds it.” Stumped, the other gods told Brahma they gave up—there didn’t seem to be any place to hide our holiness and keep it out of our reach. “Wait,” Brahma said with a smile. “I’ve got it. We’ll hide man’s holiness deep within himself—he’ll never think to look for it there.” Since then, we’ve spent ages digging below the earth, diving to the sea floor, and climbing tall mountains, looking for something that’s already within us.
