Opposites Attract? (55)
Was with a guy for 5yrs...Was the total opposite of me...didn't end well....
Then was with a guy who I had some things in common with but not totally alike and that was great...till the money monster got hold of him....
Now I would go for the latter still I think...I would like them to have their own ideals and hobbies and such that they enjoy..but we would have enough in common to find that happy balance
If you have found that and it sounds like you have...I wish you the very best with it
And unless it feels totally wrong to you...I would not over think it to much but just enjoy your time together
Hopefully I'll find mine one day soon

Good question Newlife I'm in between although anything goes when it comes to love. It's essentially a personal choice. But when the two parts make a whole, then I think that's what love is. And from what I have observed, it's not attraction that holds the relationship. It's understanding and respect more than anything else even love and that's the place im at now..

You got a point there twodawgz, attraction can be just pure lust! (Just ask Mel Gibson/Greg Norman??) but to hold a relationship together it has to have more substance, something behind the first impressions.

Recently met a guy who is so like me in a lot of ways but his life is totally opposite to me but we hit it off right away and are still wondering how we can be so alike but so different and yet be so attracted to each other??
(Just read the above and it sounds so confusing but then so is life/love?? )

I do believe that opposites can compliment each other in a relationship. Then again I married an opposite and it ended that the things that attracted him, became the things that drove us apart.
I think that we need to have enough in common generally - ideals, humour and so on, but enough independence - some different interests, ideas.. and so on.
