ooby_dooby: First of all, stop insulting me by calling me scooby doo. You wouldn't want me to call you meddlehead would you? Second, Al-qaida was NOT created by USA it was created by OBL. We aided Afghanistan to help them rid their country of Russian invaders. Our huge mistake was that we left after Russia left and didn't stay to help them recover. Third, OBL is not a CIA agent, if he were, he would be recalled, put on trial, found guilty and executed. Don't be absurd.
Finally, I have heard from some very unreliable sources that OBL is staying at a 5 star hotel in downtown Dubai.

As far as I'm concerned, my main concern is right here at home, screw everyone else.
We're not wanted over there so why should we help.

Steve5721: Some people should NOT open their mouths without thinking or even checking into things.Donations made by the British public to help victims of the worst floods in Pakistan's history have reached £6 million, UK charities said today.
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) said around 545,000 survivors have been provided with emergency care, clean water, food or shelter as a result of British aid.

For Pakistan, the international community gave or pledged $150 million after the flooding began in earnest in late July, according to the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs, known as OCHA.

The United States has donated the most -- at least $7 million -- and has sent military helicopters to rescue stranded people and drop off food and water.Aid pledged and funded to Pakistan
As of 12 August 2010.
SOURCE: UN OCHA

United Kingdom $32,550,860
United States $22,525,715
Australia $9,033,423
Kuwait $5,000,000

There are many other countries that have also donated.

THEN, we see this sort of wonderful excerpt from the Telegraph:

The Taliban has told victims of Pakistan's floods to boycott aid from "foreign infidels" as the UN called for $460 million in emergency aid to prevent a rise in the death toll.

"We condemn American and other foreign aid and believe that it will lead to subjugation," saidPakistan Taliban Azam Tariq. "Our jihad against America will continue."

With the rhetoric came the offer of $20 million (£12.7 million) in Taliban aid, a doubtful promise and, in any case, a drop in the ocean.

€15.000,000 from the German Govt as well.

Hundreds of villages across Pakistan in an area roughly the size of Italy have been marooned, highways have been cut in half and thousands of homeless people have been forced to set up tarpaulin tents along the side of roads.

"We left our homes with nothing and now we're here with no clothes, no food and our children are living beside the road," said protester Gul Hasan, clutching a large stick.

Hasan, like fellow protesters, has been forced from his village and sought refuge in Sukkur. He and others were camped under tattered plastic in muddy wasteland beside the road.

Dozens of stick-wielding men and a few women tried to block five lanes of traffic outside Sukkur, a major town in the southern province of Sindh. Villagers set fire to straw and threatened to hit approaching cars with sticks.

On Sunday night, hundreds of villagers burned tires and chanted "down with the government" in Punjab province.

magna1: Doubtless,-an enormous disaster, and I´m sure the World community gets together and send help in every possible way...My question is,-how much do you personally give away in aid???Anything???I know quite a lot of people who are "oh-so-concerned" about almost everything,-but when it comes to donate,-no-one will...,-let someone else do the job...I call it hypocrits.......A good advice,-since you´re so conerned,-sell your car,dvd-player,stereo,washmachine,-and give it away to them really needing the money...Would you do that???Or are you just talking.......Since I´m involved myself with certain charity-organisations,-I do know how much people love to talk.....

I will not sell my car nor my washer machine or anything else BUT I do volunteer work, I do professional pro-bono work (alternative energies) and I do help my local people.

In One of the two civic groups that I belong to, we did some work to get big donations from labs who make medical drugs so we are taking those medical drugs to remote rural areas for people in need, to nursing homes for elder people who have no families, to a Cancer children's asociation (AMANC), etc.

Many times hands or some work is more needed than money or as well as money. Right now I would think many hands are needed in Pakistan and many more will be needed for reconstructing the villages.

sunny_1982: Flood in Pakistan has displaced more than 20 million peoples including arround 8 million childrens.Thousants of people are dead and hundreds are missing.

This disaster and distruction is much bigget than Sonami but the World is not responding same, as they respond while Sonami. There is also a question mark on UN and NGO's performances.

The nation who are already runied by terrorism, is now drowning by Rain. THEY NEED YOUR HELP

Yes, you should help them because when the Great Flood hits Sweden, Pakistan will be the first to offer tens of millions, plane loads of tents and whatever you need. They will do everything you want them to do, including restructuring your country. All the do-gooders will be there helping, people who have very little will be asked to give whatever they can give, if they dont they will be embarrassed into giving, even if it leaves them without food for their families.

Better still, why dont you go there and help first, take your wage packet with you, unopened of course, work with the non working UN and NGO's, show them how it is done, you seem like the ideal person to set the wheels in motion, maybe you could become the new leader??

And....................before the 'you are a rascist mother f#####' starts, l live in a country that is part the European Union, l know MANY people that do not have electric light, toilets or bathrooms in their houses, old people that do not get a state pension to live on and not enough to eat, a waiting list for a hospital that most will never live to see.

But, Yes, give your money to Pakistan(but buy a dictionary to be able to write correct English first!)
