ladylumps: Yes but by failing you they've said you're not at a standard that they will pass you to get your full licence but yet you can still drive.
your not at the pass rate standard which therefore means that your back to provisional!! sure thats the point. that you dont even have to pass a driving test to get a theory license!
Batty000: what i do think is hilarous(this shows hoe backwards we are) a learner is technically not permitted to drive on a motorway but as soon as they pass their test they are free to drive on a road that they have no experiece on,, now that is pure kerryman style!
It's a common misconception that people often think is mad but it's actually not the case.
Driving on a Motorway is not an special driving skill in itself and the same principles still apply in relation to car control, lane changing, vision etc; the main difference being that cars are not coming towards you. The signs used are covered in the ROTR book and tested in the theory part of your driving test as well.
Incidentally, you can drive as a learner on a non motorway dual carriageway and the conditions are identical to a Motorway
What about 16yr old lads left to their own devices in Big John Deere tractors drawing a couple of tonne of sillage behind them on the country roads, at all hours of the night. I think thats madness.

Most tractors do 35/49 mph at best. These are not the cause of the carnage on our roads. Idiots and drunks speeding at 60,70,80 mph on back roads that twist and turn all over the place. Inexperience is also a major factor.... BUt rarely is it a 16 year old drawing silage

True, Oh! The council putting random cones on the road, in the most dangerous of places sometimes, now that annoys me.

I agree, on secondary roads the road marking are appaling at best, amazing that this is where most of the fatal crashes happen... Not on the motorways... where they are planning the majority of the new speed cameras..... Which makes the speed camera process a farce to make money rather than saving lives
