wgaBloke: This will help me as i work for a Company that has 50 buses. There is talk of a bus or two with people who can spare the time to go up for a few weeks.
Im puting the idea to the ceo, his cousin runs a Coach Building Business as well as a few hundred buses in Bris. We can send the people needed to get things happening.

I dont need to register as im ses. We will be sending crews from all over the district, regardless of what happens at my workplace. All id need is the nod to take some of my Long service, im sure id at least get that

Good on ya Wagga Bloke! I was thinking of you in December when the Bidgee was up...as a former resident I was a bit concerned for old friends still parked there.

Aussies will get off their collective arses and help.. it is what we do.. in my lifetime I have seen numerous instances.. from 1974 Brisbane, Cyclone Tracy 1974 and onwards time and again..

You're right, Australians are marvellous when it comes to emergencies like this. Plenty of help on the way, no worries there.

Thank you to everyone from QLD/NSW who is affected who let us know you are okay. I'm saying prayers that of you and yours stay safe and well.

Please keep us posted if you can, especially as we get closer to Thursday.

Had a chat to Red this morning, her place is about 1/2 under, with the river still rising blues she was able to get a lot of stuff out and her and the kids are safe with family.

Told her that everyone was worried about her, and that I'd leave an update here.

We have sunshine today grin so thats great for me and Im heading home.

I heard from Red just now .. she heard her house is under up to the roof now but she did get all her stuff out and her and the kids are still safe and sound applause

I feel so sorry for her brother tho.. he owns the house and couldn't get flood insurance - probably because the same house went under in the 74 floods) blues

Water rising again in Maryborough, but this was expected, due to water from further up the river, tide today is lower than the other day so we should be fine, in any case I will not be in trouble unless the whole town has gone. Dont worry about me, save that for those further south.

I was watching the weather and it looks like there is more rain in northern territory thru the centre western qld again such as there was preceeding this catastrophic event , I hate to be the bearer of even worse news but correct me if im wrong , wont this weather pattern result in the same result in a few weeks? There is also a cyclone brewing in the coral sea and we all know what that means .I feel we may have only just seen the tip of the iceburg with this insane weather , victoria is also experianceing some flooding and a servere weather warning heavy rains predicted for SA
Anoother question I have for those more educated in the geographical workings of our continent is this , will all this water head south? towards the southern states , we too have had heaps of rain in the last 4 months so our grounds here are soggy...
The ramifications of this event are many and far reaching I feel the true effects will resound for months if not years ,What of the mossie plauges ,Disease, depresssion, the sewage spills the power outages , the oil and petrol in the ocean the enviromental impact for the farming and agricultural communities I mean all the topsoil will have washed away, the price of food will soar What else can we expect ???
