kiwiman85Brisbane, Queensland Australia3 PostsHope everyone is ok over there. Been watching it all unfold from here in England. Will be in Brisbane in a couple of days to see family. Thoughts with all the family's dealing with lost lives or missing loved ones.

It's not looking great on the news guys, weather prediction wise. The worst expected by Thursday.

I rang a friend of mine in Brisbane the other night. Fortunately, they're on higher ground, so despite being near the river, they're not affected, thank goodness. But they can see many others not so lucky. Her spirits were high, as is usual for her though.
My Niece is in an evactuaction centre ..In her words

He's just awesome ... and he just has the best sense of humour.
Anna Bligh is working her butt off too and I honestly feel that she's doing a good job.
Watching the live TV broadcast of the city awakening to such awful scenes.
Brisbane is such a beautiful river city, young and vibrant - so so sad to see such destruction.
Can't even begin to think about how long this will take, how many peoples day to day lives have been changed in a few days.
Mother nature has been so, so cruel.
Sadly, the long range weather forecasts are not good and we can expect more rain in the next 3 mths, maybe not as bad as now but we will all be very nervous.
to all affected directly by this tragedy.

girlunleashed: Hi all just letting u know Toowoomba is well on the way with clean ups etc however we have run out of basics like milk bread bottled water and fuel is scarce. Roads in and out are completely screwed, whole sections r totally missing. My friend in lockyer valley witnessed his mates dead body float past him today. This is devastating beyond belief. Thanks for all ur kind wishes everyone.....

Not making any less of the situation in Qld but 139 people in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil due to landslides from torrential floods and downpours.

Its so wonderful to read all the support from people to those effected. And as we can see by the tv reports and radio stations that Australians
are pulling together and helping their fellow neighbours.... Lot of people will loose communication-power switched off in thousands of homes, mobile batteries will run out and no way to recharge??
