Tulefel: The real beauty is indeed within. But if you have to show it in some way, haven’t you? Otherwise people wouldn’t know that it is there. So make-up is a way to show a part of your inside beauty. And by the way, it also shows our aesthetical preferences and satisfies our claims of being artistically talented.
EagleWoman: Have had exactely this same "discussion" with some male friends in UK!!!! They maintained "such & such" DOES NOT wear make up and how natural blah blah blah... Had to point out to them "where" the make up was and "how"
Let's not forget botox ....
I have several female friends who partake in this nerve numbing facial drug every 3 mths(personally, I couldn't bear the thought).
smoky: How do girls win beauty pageants?...... By the clever use of make-up!
Ever seen a Beauty Queen without her make-up? I have ... she looked like a pale little mouse.......
The secret is in the Clever Use of Make-Up ..... not plastering it on.
So ... men who dislike women using make-up are mixing with the wrong women ... women who actually have no talent for the use of make-up!
And ... the women they admire for "not using make-up" are just being fooled by the womans skill in application!
Well said Smoky, make up applied correctly is very attractive and enhances the features of the face. I wouldn't go out without it. My eyes are the best features so eye make up is very flattering for me.
I think makeup sometimes make people look fake being natural is good and alot better for you .
a little make up now and again dont hurt but too much can be bad for the skin as well . i only use it on special occasions other than that i am natural everyday .
EagleWoman: Rubbish!!! What's gravity got to do with wearing make up on the face? Unless they've invented special "support" make up I never heard about
I agree with Meinme though about taking good care of skin, but that can be done very simply, drinking plenty of water and natural oils and aloe vera, without using chemical products
Have you ever heard of plastering? Make-up is equivalent for many women, trying to cover their "face cracks".
MAN67: What happens when you wake up in the morning next to the guy, he runs away???
Nein, when one wakes up in the morning one does not, simply put, look quite as glamorous as one looked the evening before .... just a bit paler and not quite as delicious.
The guy also does not look quite so great.
Putting on make-up for going out is showing the world, and one`s partner, that one cares about one`s appearance ..... and has respect for the partner in trying to improve one`s appearance.
would love to wear make up but i guess i'm not good at it, tried couple of times and i looked like a clown! :-) now i only put moisturizer cream and sunblock on my face daily... sometimes face powder and lipstick if i'm on a date but i adore women with make up especially those who can play around with the brush make shading etc.. it's like an art..

Make-up is an art, like painting a picture.... enhancing what you have. NOT painting your face!
If you "look like a clown" with make-up, then you are obviously NOT in need of make-up! You have a natural beauty!
Stuff like mascara is only to enhance eyelashes.
Dark shadow is only to lightly shade around eyes........ you can Google "make-up" tips. Same with high-lighters.
There is an old saying that make-up is only for when you NEED it ... like when your natural beauty begins to fade with age.

when I was in my teens, in the 80's, I REALLY looked like a clown.
big hair, lots of colors on my face....hahaha....
as the years passed by, I learned to put it on properly and learned what colors suit my natural tone. and as I said before...it all comes to a clean basis. make sure your skin is a clear canvas and go on from there.
I have nothing to hide, just clear skin which I like to spoil with good and rich cremes.
I'm doing it for myself, just to feel good about my appearence

I agree with you Smoky... was even thinking to sign up for a make up course! I can't even put mascara without making my eyelashes look very 'heavy'.. and not to mention the eyeliner! yes i am that bad.. seriously
