....to recognise multiple profilers or returners under a different guise, yet I´m always surprised that few people seem to be able to recognise it. I generally know the few who do always recognise them, but I don´t normally write about it to them in private to confirm our mutual suspicions. Sometimes I have with people I feel I can trust though.

I notice the style in which people write, and the vocabulary they use (along with the grammatical errors sometimes!) perhaps my job as an English teacher helps me more than others here, and the fact that I´ve been a member for longer than most, but I also often notice the use of specific emoticons, it´s a dead giveaway, and this has nothing at all to do with my job.

Having been around on and off for over 5 years of course there have been instances of this throughout that time, but lately, probably in the past year or so, there has been much more of this going on here, and it really wears my usually limitless patience. laugh

It just isn´t fun anymore quite honestly when you feel you can´t trust anyone or aren´t sure if you are actually responding to a real person.

Anyone else feel the same way?

I'm a "returner" with a different ID. Not been here for may be couple of years, although the last year I was a member I logged in may be 2/3 times. Soooooooooooooo apart from the peeps I remember and recognise through photo and may be same ID, I'm just taking it easy apart from spending a bit of time on the forums.

Yeah, you´re right, they´re easy to spot.

The only thing that annoys me is the paranoia that´s being created, and that other CS members sometimes get accused openly, but without real proof, of having several profiles... dunno

I couldn't tell one person's profile from the next, but I agree with Scottyburd, I just like the forums and read the ones I know will make me laugh, skip over the ones who just like to cause trouble or are me me me type people. I just like to laugh when I am not feeling well and am housebound, which is quite a bit as I have severe migraines and when I can't sleep I put on my ugly red glasses and come on here, Facebook or Helium. And have been around quite a bit lately...because I am sick again sigh

Lots of the "banned club" members will apparently attempt to come back under a covert profile and start trouble again, but you're right, it's easy to spot and some are even stupid enough to post pictures...how silly is that?rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing Like hello...you don't think you're not going to be noticed.

I have noticed also Jan but if i'm honest i think we have more things to worry about at the moment than someone having more than one profile & coming back after being banned. People are dying in floods / war around the world so really this is extremely low priority in my book handshake

Yes I agree, I don´t like that either and I do think that sometimes people get accused of all sorts unfairly here. However, I think that scenario is more often when online "relationships" break up.

Of course Darren, but this is CS so I obviously write my concerns about the machinations going on here on the forums. My concerns about the things in life you mentioned are normally addressed elsewhere, in the offline world, not here on a dating site.

oh, jan...

how i envy you this capacity...i mean to recognize a person by the way of writing and usage of some expressions and terms...

i'm able to do so in Italian but not in English, therefore i feel somewhat "more vulnerable" in trying to understand whom i deal with...

that being said i was recently schocked while reading a moderator's post about a male member having two profiles:one male and another female...

it reminded me about my son, Lucio, when he was 12/13 yrs old and he used to play online the role-playing games where you are supposed to assume a role of a character in a narrative....

but there all the partecipants are aware that each of them is acting as a fictional character...exercising some kind of strategy

here i consider it deceiving...

and i hate the feeling of untrust...

It´s a great skill to have in my work, but a huge disappointment here so no envy is necessary at all.

I have to add though, that I have been "deceived" a few times, as many have when they strike up correspondence with someone or get to actually meet someone, so I´m not infallible. laugh wave
