friends474: this site is about connecting singles. right? i would have thought putting a photo on your profile would be one of the first things to do. i know it's not all about looks but i would never meet up with anyone without seeing what they looked like first. it just wouldn't feel right.

You're assuming that they don't send a photo before they meet? They could send it off site for all we know.
Then again, just like dating in the dark, it could be all about whether the personality matches or the way that they carry themselves off, without actually knowing what the person looks like.

There are many reasons why people don´t have their picture attached to their profile.
Some may have no camera, other are shy, some others again might be prohibited from posting pictures by CS for a number of reasons, some don´t wanna be recognised by people who might know them, and so on, and so on.
I personally don´t care about pictures - I´ve found some great friends on here and only very rarely does it occur to me that I don´t even know what they look like.

People have all kind of reasons not to post their pictures ....
1.I wanna come up as mysterious
2.I don`t want someone to recognize me
3.Someone will steel my identity
4.Im not photogenic
5.Im here just for the forums

I belong to acouple websites and some people post pics of themselves, of pets etc and noone thinks anything of it.
I realize on a site such as thing it helps to have a photo up.But even if they put a photo up how do you know for sure it's actually of them.

I agree... the few I have spoken to that had no pictures, turned out to be married, and just wanted an affair.
I don't know why they don't just put that in their profile as well, save me time.
But also I think most people are a little embarrassed to be seen by family and friends on a meeting site.
If a guy is not prepared to at least send me a picture, then I wont continue the talk...Fair is fair I say.
