Frankly I don't think either party has any desire to rein in spending. Politics isn't really about trying to improve things. It's about self-enrichment by pursuing the interests of those with money and power. And the interest of the rich and powerful is totalitarian.

He didn't keep a single one of his campaign promises.
And he has run up the debt to the tune of 4 or 5 more trillion (2 trillion for the bailout and stimulus alone, another 2 trillion for the continued wars and occupations plus untold billions of waste resulting from his healthcare scam).
He inherited a failing economy and promptly did all he could to finished it off as fast as possible.
History will blame him for the coming depression.

If he was such a patriotic American as his screen name implies he would be IN USA not FROM USA. He left our country because he couldn't get healthcare and he fled to France, now he poo poo's the healthcare reforms championed by Obama. Maybe if the Republicans worked with democrats when the Clintons took on healthcare reform back in the 90's he could have gotten his medical issues taken care of without fleeing the country.------ This thread is Archived ------

That is an assumption. No one knows we would have went into a depression. My personal view is that we would be farther down the road to recovery if Obama hadn't wasted 1 trillion dollars.
