From the medical point of view, research how many of these marriages give life to special needs children.

I posted a thread about this issue last week, and I´d say it´s completely awful...

Every survey shows, that illness, miscarriages, degenaration is a result of that, and much more...

To me,it´s just unthinkable...

Marriage of Cousins
Despite the long list of degrees of forbidden relationship, you can marry a cousin (courtesy of Henry VIII who changed the law to marry his cousin!). However, it would be sensible for you both to consult your GP to ensure that there are no factors in your family's health records that would make your decision to have children inadvisable on medical grounds.

Most muslim marriages made with a cousin, many arranged.

I look from emotional side.Does it work ?

Men tend to be a hunters and one day you get a wife on a silver platter.Or love or no love. They say, a divorce does not exsist in their culture.
But have you ever heard of the ex cousin ?

I agree about genetics, but even though doctors say its only 3-4% of all births who has some medical disoders.

Well, Liiy32, it depends on which grade of Cousine. From first to fourth cousines from the father side cannot marry, because the blood relation is so close. In a matriach culturs, like Ashantis of Ghana, thesame grade of cousine till 4th grade is not allowed on the mother side. In some cultures like the IGBOs of Eastern Nigeria (BIAFRA), one cannot marry his/her cousine up to 14th grade cousine from the father side. In fact, as long as one can trace the bloodline connecting them. Anything more than this is an abomination.
But, are you planning to marry your cousine?.
