Oh dear! I think the Canadian head of state is the Queen of England (and all her dominions) and her lot have been marrying their first cousins for centuries.

It would be worth marrying a first cousin just to mount a very unusual defence! You'd go into the history books but you's most likely be beheaded for treason for some old law that's never been repealed!
