I can't decide whether this is sick or it's childish. I've been to more than a few meets myself and although there's been some embarrassing though not unenjoyable stuff through drink, there's been no nastiness.
To be honest, I haven't experienced bullying like this since primary school. There are a whole crowd of former friends I have issues with on this site and who's company I choose not to be in, but I have never been threatened and would never threaten anyone in this way.

I got one (obviously fake profile made up for the occasion) warning me not to go to the Dublin chrimbo meet - The message was sent and then the profile immediately closed so that's how I'm assuming that it was created just for that purpose. It was quite detailed in why I'd be getting hassle and not being let in if I'd tried to go.
I didn't end up going to that meet due to going on holidays instead - but it certainly was off putting - I wasn't like afraid of it or who sent it - but it certainly did make you think "Meh, Not worth the hassle really"

That sounds like someones jealous of someone else's relationship with someone here.
If I were either of those people (who were warned not to go) I'd ignore it and go anyway.

That is weird in a very bad way. Do you think they would tell you who did the warning? After all if someone had an issue with the meets, wouldn't it be a better idea to come right out with it.
I have been to several meets and have never seen any real aggro. As GG said, some embarrassing incidents cos of drink but nothing that would be harmful or threatening.

I wouldn't take the blindest bit of notice of a warning by a fake profile but I could understand being very put off if you hadn't been to a meet before.
