marisoll: A year or so ago, while on vacation in the Caribean, I met a wonderful young man,,,, after many drinks, we ended up in bed, he is now 20 and I am 42.... no matter, how hard he tries to act my age, it is impossible, he wants to stay with me, but... I think that it is just unfair for us both, even though we are very happy when we are together..... I really have to let him go and I am having a difficult time doing so...... ANY ADVICE, PLEASE????

Why do you want to let him go? enjoy your time together and care for him as much as you can.. if it lasts a year or a life time.. what does it matter? atleast you have a year or a life time of bliss... stop worrying, it will work itself out.

You were on vacation/holiday for what 10 - 14 days? Do you really know anything about him? Does he really know you? Did you two have any correspondence or talk since then?

If your relationship feels right, it is...so hold onto it. If you're having doubts that can't possibly be resolved...then let him go. Tough situation you're in and it's the reason why I wouldn't consider someone who is too young

Not easy to let go... I was in a similar situation, only the age difference was 13 years. All these looks from the people in the streets and restaurants, disapproval from my relatives, difference in life experiences, his awareness that his family will never accept me, impossibility to have children together, no future...And happy times together. It is unfair for both sides as you said. We parted and came together several times until I finally was strong enough not to give in again. Never ever again! Although I would not mind a few years difference one or other way, there are age limits that make long term relationship impossible.
