JimNastics: Surely, there must be some programming language that would eliminate a forum thread being brought back to the top of the heap, if the same person posted a comment twice (or more) in a row.

Currently, ANY comment by ANYONE brings a thread to the top, even if it is the same person...over and over and over... again.
This has been manipulated by several flooding offenders to the extreme extent.

Alternatively, automatic post blocking, so that the same commentor can't post twice in a row on the same forum thread would also be a (somewhat less favorable) solution.

Both have been done on some other sites, so I KNOW it is possible.
What?confused

JAN_is: Is it really such a problem? It doesn´t happen too often that someone keeps on commenting over and over just to bring the thread back up.

Sometimes people post a thread then for valid reasons are unable to respond immediately. I know many long standing members who go back into their thread some time later and respond to each individual comment made in their absence. I don´t see anything wrong with that, it´s just being polite.

In my opinion forum flooders are those who make several inane threads and rarely make more than one or two posts in them. It´s all the rest who keep these silly threads going on and on.

I think that there is a case for the more serious threads (presuming that they are posted in the correct section)to have a posting restriction of,say 2 or 3 in every 10 posts. This would prevent highjacking by flirting and chit chat,or at least discourage it.I have noticed "Bump" being used often recently to remove someones post from the view page.I find it quite a manipulative gesture.

SCatlyn: You discovered that, too!

(But I would know it was you... b/c you're not A & O -annoying & obnoxious- IMO ......plus, you'd probably be tempted to say you're from OMyA or KMyO, Georgia.... so I'd know absolutely for sure! )

I have a friendly suggestion for the site. Why not make it easier for people to communicate then there may not be all these misunderstanding of someone which is posted.Maybe by installing cams or something similar.

I know how sometimes someones comments can be taken the wrong way from which it was intended.

it depends, everyone lies, have you ever taken a sick day off work when you werent sick??? everyone is acting as if she was a scammer who scammed them out of millions of dollars.
and for the not going along button, there is such a thing as ignoring someone, and if you dont want to ignore someone, you have a right to make your point but you dont have to do it in a aggressive or insulting manner

I did ignore it, I didn't want to be bother with it at all,

until people started in on the folks that chose to speak up.

If the people claiming we should just let things slide,,,

would stfu and let it slide, the conversation

would be over already.
