Amity: For heaven's sake..
A man simply makes a thread on ways he feels could improve the forum..and along come the "have to be right" brigade.

If no one thinks the suggestions are purposeful then so be it...no need to be rude about it.

Brigade?

Jim made a suggestion about changing the way the forums work, most gave their reasons why they didn't think it was a good idea.

dunno

JimNastics: No, I am making a suggestion to improve the site for everyone, making it more equitable. Are you against fairness ?
How could you possibly confuse popularity with the same person(s) posting over & over & over again in a row on the same thread ???
Popularity MIGHT be better defined by the number of unique individuals who respond, but even that definition falls short.
Your statement is illogical and misleading.

Doesn't it state in the rules someplace that suggestions to improve the site are not welcomed by the staff? Something to the effect that if you don't like it, leave?

I am not against fairness. I believe it is fair, on a site that works like this, to let it work as it has always done, without too many complaints about the regulation of the postings.

What works for the majority IS fair, in this case. What is definitely NOT fair, is one person asking to change what works for the majority, (according to this thread so far), against the majority's wishes.

What you seem to have here, is what you have had for some time, a personal grudge against one, or maybe even two posters, that you percieve, are hogging the limelight.

You may not mean to, but you are coming across as hostile and biased. I don't think this will win you friends and influence people, (except against you).wine

JAN_is: Keep your hair on!

My hair has never come off laugh

JAN_is:
No need to embolden and add a sarcastic quip. I thought I responded politely to you, after all you were asking for opinions weren´t you?

I don't remember asking for opinions (especially from flooders).
I thought that this thread was for suggestions to be read by the site administrators. dunno

I made the text bold to better enable the reader to sift out my response. Would you prefer I use all caps ? Sorry if somehow you misinterpreted bold text to be offensive
laugh

JAN_is:
Sorry to say, but your suggestion hasn´t won the majority vote so far, and I´m even sorrier that I´ve just bumped your thread back up to the top.

Quite the contrary. I've gotten mail from several people who believe this to be a "very good idea". However, they state that for, they don't want to comment on the thread itself, because they are very tired of being verbally attacked by certain individuals who are against this change. scold

JAN_is:
I suggest you read ALL the responses instead of jumoing in on mine so rudely.

I have read all the responses. I see some denial. I see some flooders protesting change. I see some confused people.
However, I do not see one better suggestion for rectifying this growing problem in the forums.

Conrad73: If someone genuinely Floods the Forum, you can always report them!
Otherwise,just bump your own Thread!

I've grown up believing 2 wrongs do not make a right.
Besides, that would then makes it even less equitable for the
others who are not flooding and that is something I wouldn't want to do.

peace

It is in feedback i assume for CS staff to read?
Of course everyone is entitled to their opinions...it just appears to me as if people are not only pointing out they dislike his views but being rude about it.
JMO..of course.wave

It would be constructive if it didn't come from personal grudges.

Constructive opnions are usually unbiased and benefiting the majority. For the greater good, and all that!

No they haven't. Not one person has stated why this change would not be good, or make it worse. I understand that people are generally set in their ways and reluctant to change, even if the change is to everyone's benefit. Unfortunately, that is human nature. However, no one has stated a concrete reason, why this change would not be of benefit to all. Instead, they have denied the problem. OK, if there's no problem, then the change wouldn't make any significant change, would it ?
But, if it IS a problem (which it is), then this change would help the majority of people on the site. thumbs up

Why shouldn't I be allowed to post on the different Threads,or even several Posts on the Threads after I sign in?
What sort of a weird Idea is it,that I could only make one answer, the have to wait out nine posts to add another answer!
And what are your Motives to want that Change?confused
