Ron_de_Jeremy: This tell me that money is desirable... yet it doesn't imply that it's the main criterion in the search for the right partner.

I am not talking about my opinion, I am talking about how things appear to me in this world. It is not that I approve of it, but this is the reality.

Looking_Heart: let me ask you this

do you believe that wealthy people would need to search for love on this site?

TheresMyFriend: Do you think Hugh Hefner would have the companions that he has...if he were a man of just working hard, and not wealthy?

I don't think so.

-John-

Hugh Hefner is not EVERY MAN nor is his present companion EVERY WOMAN. However, he obviously uses his money to keep the veil over reality, and some ladies are obviously only too happy to help him keep the veil there. On a basic level they could both be very happy. On a soul level? I doubt it ... but it's their journey!!!

maryrachelle: I guess it would mean plenty of disposable income.Money to blow frivolously.Big houses, expensive cars, walk in closets as big as my bedroom.

I guess all that would be interesting and I sure would help him blow his cash in no time - but it's a bit unnecessary... and no, all this stuff doesn't guarantee happiness. dunno

I didn't express any opinion either. I just pointed out logical errors.

I'm sure I've said this before, so forgive me if I'm repeating myself.

In my student days I worked in a chemist that had a small perfumery department. Come Christmas time we were rushed off our feet, most of the sales going to men. They would come in and ask us to recomend a brand and select a product based on price without having any idea of what their partners actually liked, what suited them, or even roughly their preference, flowery, musky, citrusy, whatever.

To my mind they weren't buying a gift. They were buying a piece of status. They were measuring attachment on the pounds sterling scale.

A fella once bought me some Channel. To my mind he wasted a weeks food money on something that smelt foul, would probably have brought me out in a rash and cost about 7 pence to manufacture, bottle and box included. Now call me old fashioned, but I rather a man with a little more intelligence than that.

(PS. My best friend was thrilled).

crazyblondeone: I do not think money can buy real true love. As long as the guy is a hard worker that's all I care about. Expensive presents only serve one purpose and that's a materialistic one. True love is a lot better than a babble.

that`s a bit of a contradiction ...do you agree with me on that???

Reality is subjective.

I have 50 dollars in my wallet, food in my belly,a roof over my head and free health care.Am I rich? Too a woman living in a mud hut in desperately poor country trying to feed her children through begging,I probably am rich to her.By Canadian standards I am pretty poor though. As I said reality is subjective.
