I run out of "nice" all the time. I'm not perpetually nice, nor do I think we are obligated to be. I keep a healthy balance of all emotions, I believe. My emotions are appropriate for the situation, I believe.

i was never nice to start with.
however, i do find that i get a bit testier at times...it's my indication that i need to spend some quality time with me.

I've noticed on a full tank of nice is not lasting as long as in the past... and the cost recently of my being nice ... people mistaking it for a weakness, deceit, and asskissing... its almost to exspensive anymore. When being nice is considered a part of a scheme with discreet undertones , being questioned upon turning on the "nice" withresponses like "what do you want??? or the "don't even try it" remark, even when offering someone something for free they expect more than what you freely offered.

I have had to good fortune to know a number of southern ladies. From them I learned something that may prove useful
As I am sure you know, southern ladies are known for their decorum. Proper manners and etiquette and whatnot.
One day I asked one of these fine ladies how it was that they could hold their tongue when things were most stressed....
Miss Laurie told me that southern ladies had a bit of private jargon that they used at those most challenging momments. Clearly understood by any other southern lady within earshot. This offered a clear amount of satisfaction when to situation warrented it.
When faced with someone who makes them just want to scream and cuss, she told me they look at that person and with the most sticky sweet smile ever they simply........"Well...Thats Nice!"
which as I been told is southern lady speak for:
you !@#^%#%^&&*&%%^$^&*((*&%$^()(*&^%$%#@@!&*())___(&^%$##%^&*$%##&U****^%##$$%%^^** AND further more you are )(*^&(*&%*(Y$&%@%#^*&&%)T_(*^_*^&_+)_*(^*%

fireliter keep the nice tank full. If the other person suggests intentions other than what is given? Let it go because that is not yours to deal with. You do not have to explain yourself to anyone for giving nice.
If your nice has other intentions? Then that is yours to deal with. This is normally dealt with through justification and is easy to spot.
But if your nice has no other intention than to be nice then you know that you did right and simply let go of any reaction other than a nice response because it is not worth the effort and/or heartache to deal with.
