I was watching tv news and they said that there had been a 6 point earthquake in Japan and earth tremors in Korea. Since they tested another nuclear bomb.
My question is this---When they send one of those up or out, whatever they do with it. Where does the fallout from it go? Is it in the water, the air, the land, I mean jeeze. What all is being affected by this behavior? This is nuclear waste right? Where is it at now? What is it doing wherever it went?dunno confused

lvslife, both of North Korea's tests were conducted underground. Hence the siesmic quake. This was also why the US knew they had detonated a small nuclear device. We moniter siesmic waves all over the world. At least they had the intelligence to do it underground. The earth caves in and forms a seal around it, so there is no fallout. An above ground test will send the worst of the fallout to within a couple of hundred miles, but there will be trace amounts of it spread world-wide. When Chernobel exploded, (the russian nuclear power plant), there was radioactive gas and dust spread over the entire upper hemisphere. And that was just a nuclear power plant. But, as I said, the worse of it, the really heavy, really dangerous stuff, was only spread a couple hundred miles.

If North Korea continues pushing the worlds buttons, however, you may get to see a few air bursts over there country.....sigh

I'm a bit bothered by the testing.

Take a solid sphere with cracks and faults in it.
Drill into the surface a short distance and place a small explosive in the hole.
Cover it and set it off.
At some point won't you cause the cracks and faults that are already present to expand.
If you hit the right spot it could create a disaster of epic proportions.
N. Korea is located on one side of the Pacific Volcanic Chain.
I wonder how many sampathetic earthquakes they have set in motion.

I don't care where you do it underground or in the air...mess with Mother nature like that and you can expect to have repercussions. No ecosystem can go unaffected after suffering that kind of trauma.

Hi gang.
Actually if I remember this correctly, the scale of the quake was a 3.? and this guy has alot of balls now that he has the bomb and has warned the USA to stay away many times and would not hesitate to send one over this way. The States is spread to thin to do anything about this but economic sanctions and has to be firm but careful in its actions against NK and actually China and Russia have to come to the table and deal with this person and yesterday China had mentioned that NK needs to STOP this aggression and learn to live within the international community or face harsher consequences. China in my opinion is the only one that can make NK listen and take heed to the strict, shall we call it, advice, that china has offered.

Since they claimed to have set off the first nuke. There have been quite a few more than normal for this time of the year. Even here in the US. Since 2 pm yesterday afternoon we have had seven, Just in the 48 states. Alaska has had 6 or 7. Within the last few days Korea has had 3 that I can see.

Not a 3. The first one was a 6. The second and third were within 4-5.

all this crap with NK hits me very close to home since my brother is currently stationed in SK. I actually find it amazing how much the army keeps them clueless as to what is going on so close to them. I had to call him to find out how he was and that he was okay because he's had close calls before just with the local fighting btwn NK and SK. His response was "why?" and I had to explain to him what had happened. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up in war with NK... and this after hearing that troops will be in Iraq until 2010 at the earliest. I personally can not wait until May when my bro will be back on US soil.
